They do stink. But it's E-Z to be a Yankees fan!
I'm a Mets fan--always have been...Always will be.

Easy? Says who?

When I was growing up in the 80's, the Yanks STUNK. My favorite player is Don Mattingly - Does he have any of those championship rings? Nuh-uh.

I love my Yanks.

Now I'll be my mother for a minute:
'Rachie, I love my Yankles.'
(I meant to spell it with an l - that's what she calls them - 'her Yankles')

Now do you understand, OctGroom?

I had to put a stop to the season tickets. At least for this year (while we save up for the wedding) After we're married, we'll re-evaluate the budget

We have such great seats though.. regardless.. you have to keep paying every year so you don't get out of the loop...

We have great seats too--along the third base line...His brother is still doing it...So...his ticket is there (so as not to fall out of the loop) he'll just get someone else to use it this season...

Well it may be easy for the 'front-runners', who all of a sudden show their faces during post-season!! What gets me are the ones at the games screaming 'Yankees' and 'Jeter', or what have you, and these are the ones who wouldn't know baseball if one hit em in the head!
Lets go Yan-Kees!
All in the history..

Hopefully, me! My brother and I usually go together, since neither of our 'significant others' likes the Yanks! But not sure I can get the time off this year

Oct.Groom...I do commend you by sticking by your guys..I did like them but when they kept making mistake after mistake..I couldn't handle it anymore..I choose not to be a fan period. When i see and hear about the METS..you see it...they are lost. They don't have it in them, that spark, the drive to conquer. Even during the subway series......nothing. They are dead. Maybe one day they will get that hunger to win back...so until then hold strong.

ps...they still suck (had to say it)

it's so funny that you should write that.. back in the 70's and the early 80's, I loved the Yankees. I remember coming home from school and watching them beat the Res Sox in the 1978 playoff game. Thta was great. I loved Reggie. Billy Martin.. then it all changed.. sometime around 1983.. the Mets were the young hungry team in this town. Mookie, Hubie, Strawberry, Dr. K... it was great! It was IN VOGUE (lol) to be a Met fan.

In HS, we used to LAUGH at Yankee fans.

Now, it's all changed. I have made my choice and my decision and I totally intend to stick ith it. When you're 13, you can be bandwagon.. not as an adult.

I do disagree with you about the Subway Series. I thought the Mets played the Yanks harder than any team then they played the years before (98 and 99). Every game was always in doubt.. even when the Yankees almost blew a 6 run lead in the 9th.

Now I respect you as well because you love your boys.. and that's cool.

Though the Yankees do try to buy the best players every year as well.. and they wouldn't have been able to win as much if they couldn't play the young players they brought up when it was time to negotiate their contracts.

(Still had to say that. LOL )

Re: Let the games begin...

Yanks didn't buy Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Bernie WIlliams, Andy Petit, Rivera..the true heart and sole of the team.

Hey i was a HUGE fan of the METS.. An even bigger Wally Backman fan...They traded my man to kept that loser tuffle...I kept with my fav. player. Was a pirate fan for a while and then lost following him. But i wanted to be a baseball fan...and since i couldn't go back to the METS (held lots of resentment) i turned to the other NY team. And have stood by them.

So glad to see you back.. i was totally trashing your team when you were gone.

You're one of the few Yankee fans I know of who actually liked Clemens.

You know your baseball.. I like that.
