lets make a February 2006 Thread!!!

Well I'm WAY behind everyone here!

I only have the dress and we asked our 2 men/women of honor to be in the bridal party (that was back when we first got engaged a year ago!)

Due to the time crunch we are gathering most of the bridal party at a dinner this weekend and we'll ask them there....this is everyone in a large group of friends and I think they know this is coming! The only other 2 left are in PA and NJ and I hope to see them Sunday!

Have to rush on signing our contract at Fox Hollow (Sat am) and getting the BM dresses picked out by the end of this month so we don't have to pay for rush delivery.

So that leaves:
INVITES- trying to design my own...
PHOTOS-maybe Silverfox? MOH used them for her wedding 2 weeks ago...
VIDEO-only want basic and know a guy in the biz...he'll be a guest but can help me here.
TUXES-that shouldn't be too bad...
FLOWERS-will probably go with hall rec vendor
DJ-this is tougher but have a few good tips
LIVE MUSIC- trying to book a string trio for ceremony (where ever that is) and cocktails)
LIMO-not too worried here-prob go with hall rec. vendor
HAIR-argh-this will be tough
MAKEUP-might get a Clinique counter person to come to us
HOTEL-might go to Uniondale Marriott-big, clean and large suites.
HONEYMOON-Hong Kong? Might want warmer weather...
CHURCH- that's all FH job!
REHERSAL DINNER-not too worried about this-it'll be casual.
FAVORS/BP & FH GIFTS-have ideas-now pricing them...

WHEW! I know I'm leaving things out but I've been making decisions pretty quickly with these things so far...I'll need a lot of luck here! and the ability to freeze time!

Wow, I forgot i still have to pick out a flower girl dress. I want it to be red and white but how do I make sure the red will be the same? Does it have to be the same. Maybe you girls can help. I am using bill Levkoff Scarlet Red. Where are the best places to get a flower girl dress?

i got one online from ebay. i am not 100% sure i am going to use it but it is cute. I don't think the flower girl has to macth perfectly to you bm. but that is jmo. Good luck..

Hotel-have some quotes off the internet and have researched distance, etc.
Rehearsal Dinner-his parents are hosting-should I plan this too??

BP & FH gifts-have ideas

We are going to the Bridal expo tonight, I am hoping this will motivate me to get some stuff done! If it doesn't than I am sure the nightmares will begin. I have already had one....

I am SO glad to hear that vendors are offering discounts for Feb weddings.

Sounds like you're doing well, as for video- I have friends aske themselves the same question; the only thing that pushed me to 'yes' was the thought that my kids will want to watch it and I'm sure there will be a few times I will too-many people tell me that they don't watch theirs. I want almost raw footage though, they can do an extended highlight and I'll try to edit the rest with a friend.

As for the rehersal dinner-if your FIL are hosting I don't think you have to do anything further unless you don't trust what they'll do!

We'll get there!!

Photography is completed. I had my first fitting and ordered my invitations yesterday, the bridesmaid dresses are all taking care of,and I have a hair trial appt all booked for the end of the month.

Still have to take care of the hotels, honeymoon, diy projects like decorating my sneakers, making a card box, and baskets.

BM dresses were chosen but will not be ordered til the end of the summer.

Anything groom related - like tuxes, rings etc - is not mine to plan or order. If FH doesn't do it, it becomes his issue - NOT mine.

No rings yet.

Have my photographer held-just have to sign the contract.

Got my STDs and a friend with great handwritting to address them.

Found favors but they are a little higher than I wanted to go...we'll see.

Have a few invite ideas-ordered samples

Just waiting for my salon to call be back re:hair/makeup. I wasn't going to use them but I think it's easiest!

We have a reduced rate lined up at a Dante's tux place but FH wants to do Men's Warehouse!

Some days I'm freaking, some I feel as though I'm doing well...
