Lets talk budget

well we didnt want more than 175 there, but somehow that jumped to about 260 and counting because of FH ad the inlaws
So thats where a lot of the additional cost is coming in. SO far they ave said they will be contributing but I haven't seen anything concrete yet so I'm worried about that. And as for my parents, they paid for my dress and they will be contributing later on, but it's not going to be anything spectacular.
Basically FH and I are taking on most of the financial strain and right now honestly i think we are in the denial stage and slowly beginning to realize how deep we are getting in.

We are definitely not going to go into debt over this, just will be working super hard. Plus I will be doing a lot myself so basically the big chunk of it is accounted for with what we have booked. I just have to try and stay on track with the rest of the little things and I think there is a good chance of staying under 40k

we r paying for everything else....hm, dress, vendors, invites, favors......so far so good

My parents are giving us about $35 K and we're spending about $30 K of our own money.... it's insane how expensiev this all is... and it doesnt help that i keep changing my mind and losing deposits..... FH is ready to explode...

In terms of saving money on the hall, the only thing we could do was go with a less expensive one, rather than like others saving on the day or time of year, because the date was the one thing that was really important to me.

i have known for years that our anniversary would be falling on a Saturday in June in the year of 2010 and its our 10th yr!! So I wasn't budging on the date which means that we chose peak season on the most popular day of the week. Then we had to have an evening reception because FH and family hates the idea of day weddings because of the lack of the 'party' feeling that comes with night.

SOOO, I kinda got stuck with my hall because its the best we can afford, yea I'm def not in love, but I'm determined to make it my dream : ), within my means of course.

FH & I have budgeted for $40k...and this is on our own...no parents are helping us. It's mind blogging...you think that's reasonable? So far we're on budget or a little under budget - but that doesn't include our rings or honeymoon.

I wake up sometimes wondering what did we get ourselves into

We're projecting to have atleast 150 guest...

haha me too....I keep changing my mind too but I think it's from always being on LIW and seeing so many other work....florist, video, everything...lol...I am going to be in around 17k maybe less though b/c I am thinking about cutting out CP's and DIY candles and maybe no limo.

We are in the same situation 40k without HM and rings. We are hoping the inlaws pay for the HM.Honestly, I don't see how it can be done in NY for less than 30k. So I do think it is reasonable...However,right now I'm really worried and am going to have to try and reduce costs as much as possible from here on out.

So we're not alone - Originally FH wanted to budget for $50K and I told him he was OUT OF THIS MIND!!! Yes we were hoping our parents will help us but with this type of economy we're in - it's not gona happen. Just remember to stay within your budget - I mean there are items were we wanted to splurged but we compromised - so far we're on/slightly below budget. How many guests are you having?
