Lets Talk Lipstick

I've realized that I need to start looking for a good long lasting lipstick for my wedding. Does anyone have any insight on all those long lasting lipsticks? Any success with a particular brand?

Re: Lets Talk Lipstick

I actually like the Cover Girl long lasting one. It really does last about 8 hours, sometimes even longer. I haven't tried any of the others. I do have a coupon for the L'Oreal one, so I might try that one too!

Re: Lets Talk Lipstick

I use Clinique long lasting kind (the thinner tube).
I also used estee lauder (same company) before, but they stopped making the long lasting lipstick, so I switched to clinique. Works well when you have interviews all day and no time to freshen up (which is a case for some jobs). Just make sure to pick the right shade, b/c they don't come off easily if you mess up or don't like it.

Re: Lets Talk Lipstick

Wow I was wondering about this as well. I tried Revlon colorstay a few yrs ago and hated it. It made my lips feel very dry. I was thinking about trying Cover Girl Outlast Lipcolor. Anyone know if it's good?

Re: Lets Talk Lipstick

I tried the Revlon one yrs ago as well and had the same dryness problem. But, to see if things changed - I tried the Covergirl one and that too (unfortunately) gets the flakies! Well, at least on me. You should try it though, maybe you'll have better luck.

Re: Lets Talk Lipstick

Yes! I really like the Cover Girl one and I am the type that any lipstick comes off very easily (maybe I am a chronic lip licker ) but I have tried Revlon in the past and thought it was cakey. I have used the Max Factor one as well and still believe the Cover Girl is SO much better. It never feels cakey and yes it lasts much longer than 8 hours, I put it on say at 10 am at work and I am PULLING it off at 10:00 at night with my other makeup.

Re: Lets Talk Lipstick

I am a big fan of Cover Girl Outlast Lipcolor and used it for my wedding day lipstick. It truly did stay on all day (the color that is) and was never cakey or made my lips feel dry. But I did find myself putting on the gloss alot. I guess it was just a day for lots of kisses!! I have also tried the Max Factor Lipfinity brand and like the Cover Girl brand so much better. Plus it's a few buck cheaper....

I have found that if you apply the color part in a light coat, and let it dry, you don’t get the flakiness. That only happen when you put it on too heavy. Experiment, it does work!!

Re: Lets Talk Lipstick

I love max factors lipfinity....its GREAT.. and it really does stay on.. i tested it one night, put it on after dinner... went out, came home passed out woke up then next morning, it was STILL on and nothing was on my pillow!!!now i call that long lasting!! LOL....it comes with a gloss stick also so if you feel its getting dry (which i didnt ) you can put this on to shine it up....highly recommend this,. and no beading either!!

Re: Lets Talk Lipstick

lipfinity is great-stays put!
they also have something new now, instead of just clear gloss on top you can purchase different top coats, like a shimmer and more...check it out.

Re: Lets Talk Lipstick

I've been using Cover Girl Outlast and really like it. It stays on pretty much all day and doesn't get cakey. My only problem with it is that after a few hours it looks like there's so much more lipstick on the outside of the lips than on the inside. I'd probably still use it on the big day anyway!

Re: Lets Talk Lipstick

Metphan I had this problem too but recently I put it on again and made sure I got the inner part of my lips and let it dry for a second or two. When I was getting it off that night, I realized the inner was still on!
