Hey, thought it would be cute to see who the out of towners are.

I was in Albany (Troy-RPI student). Now I am in the Bronx (Riverdale area).

Another Arlington, VA girl here...think we need to start our own thread! I grew up in Hauppauge, moved to DC for college, been back and forth between DC area nd LI for the past 12 years! In ARlington for the past six though.

I'm from Ronkonkoma, but moved to Michigan in August of 2003 (the weekend of the big blackout no less).

I really really miss NY, and working in NYC!

moved to chicago for school and now work here... hopefully in a few years we'll make it back to the east coast (fi is from chicago area)

I grew up on LI and am now living just North of Boston now...

I really miss NY and can't wait to move back! I am feeling especially homesick today and was crying a bit earlier!

I grew up in Manhattan..then lived in Brooklyn for a year and half...and now in Jersey...will eventually move back closer to Manhattan...It'll be nice to move somewhere warm and though!

Hi Maureen! and everyone else. I live in NW PA, but I'm moving to North Jersey in May. For those of you from NY city/NJ, any recommended areas to live in? can't afford Manhattan.

I am in Raleigh, North Carolina. But FH and I grew up on Long Island and both lived in Brooklyn as well. We just move this past June. I miss NY so much, bu t I love it here too.

It really depends- in general Brooklyn, Queens and teh Bronx are cheaper to rent. However, there are parts of each borough that have prices creeping up to Manhattan level. Check out the times and Daily News real estate section, you'll get an idea how much it is to live in which neighborhoods.
