LI Sound..Are they too 'club-ish' style? Any other DJ suggestions?

So, I had a chance to see the LI Sound guys at the expo this weekend. I was impressed with their equipment and overall presentation. I am slightly worried that they might be a little to 'Jersey Shore' club style for me though. My fiancee and I are not club people at all. I do like some club style music for dancing and whatnot, but I also want a wide variety of styles, not at Z100 type of stuff.
Opinions other suggestions? I wasn't into the whole fist pump/snookie/situation references.

You have FM. I didn't think they were too clubby. You can tell them what to play. Your best bet is to go to a bridal showcase to see them in action.

thanks a TON!! Just got it :) I like their website and they seem to have a nice variety, I like that they have sample music plus I saw THE PIXES listed on there... one of my fave bands!

I am the least clubby person and so is FH and LI Sound blew us away when we went to meet them. At our friends wedding last year they played anything and everything. Sometimes you can not get a great representation of a DJ company at some of these showcases. LI Sound did the LIW showcase in the spring last year and they were awesome.

Absolutely NOT! Thats what we didn't want.
LI Sound is amazing. We had them for our wedding. they had everyone dancing the entire night that we extended our wedding....LI Sound is awesome.

Did you see them at East Wind?

That's where we saw them and I liked them but my fiance felt the same way as you. He liked Phil who was the MC for the After Hours Band.

I recently booked with LI Sound ... They instantly made me feel comfortable, and while I understand your thoughts on them being a little 'Jersey Shore', they accomodate the bride and groom in what they want - Chris was our sales rep when we booked, and when I started talking about our musical likes and dislikes, he goes 'So you're a Boardy Barn girl, aren't you??' HAHAHA. He kinda had me pegged! I was super surprised at the deal they gave us too ... I'm sure though, with whoever you choose, they will play the styles of music that you want - not what they want (or at least I would hope so ...).

I see alot of girls saying the same thing here... so I am definately open to meeting with them seeing reviews like this. THANK YOU!! :)
I guess seeing an expo presentation is not the best way to choose!!

My cousin used LI Sound and they didn't play any of the music they requested. They got married in September and are still fighting for some of their money back.

We are the same way and we booked with LI Sound.... when you go and sit with them, they will show you videos of each MC so you can pick the one who is more your style. We picked the owner because he wasn't loud or obnoxious and wasn't in everyone's faces all night. He says/does just enough. Some of the other one's were a bit more into dancing with the guests and constantly on the mic.....

we used Steve from Then Till Now and he was great! nothing to clubby at all and played what i wanted

Same! We are so not the 'fist pumping' type and that's why we loved LI Sound. They will play and be whatever kind of DJ you want them to be. If you want 'Jersey Shore' they will give you that. If you want '80's dance party', they will give you that.

We are also booked with Scott as our MC and FH and I just clicked so well with him and we are confident he is going to give us exactly what we are looking for the day of.

We used MRG. They were absolutely fabulous and they had everyone dancing the whole night! I can't say enough about them. We used the owner Marty for our MC and he was amazing. He got the crowd involved, played a variety of music like asked and just made sure everyone had a great a time. I would definitely check them out. They're located in Mineola.

FH and I just booked Tommy Tunes. Not club at all, but we just went to their showcase at Villa Lombardi's and they were exactly what we wanted. We loved the guys, the package, everything. I definitely recommend checking them out.

I booked LI Sound too. And I agree about the MC. My MC is Mike....and i'm not 'jersey shore' style either.
