okay so FH and I first met while working together at our local library so we thought it would be a cute idea to take engagement pictures in or around a library. I'm in the process of contacting the NYC public libary cause that is like my #1 choice cause there's so many great photo-op
I have a feeling through that it's going to fall through so I'm asking you girls if you know of any public library's or studies that we could take pictures at?
The one we actually met in is out cause it's small...kinda ugly...and I don't know the managers anymore so they probably wouldn't let us do it anyway

So I sent in my email of intent to the woman and she very quickly responded with the following:
Dear Lori, Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately, having engagement and wedding photos taken either inside or outside the building, is something reserved for those people having their wedding receptions here. It is part of our bridal package. I am sorry we can't help. Best, Lis
looks like I have to start looking into other options...

If you can not get approval from the city libraries...what about library at the college you went to?

thanks for all the responses girls! I actually got the phone number of a few people from st. johns (where i went to college) so if nypl doesn't work I'm gonna try my luck there.
I know there are probably going to be fee's attached. I'm waiting for a call back from a woman from the special events office to see what exactly the procedure is and if I'd be allowed to do it for a reasonable fee.
Thank you all so much for your encouragement! I'm not gonna let this go now! I'll keep you all updated as I find stuff out!

The library in the Vanderbilt Mansion in Oakdale is beautiful. They use it for the bridal suite.

Sorry, but I don't have any. I was there for a bridal expo recently. Gorgeous woodwork and floor to ceiling book shelves. It's worth calling Dowling to see if you can do a walk through. The whole building is beautiful and is right on the water. there are many different settings for pictures there.

yea I replied to her and asked if she knew if any other nypl library would let me do it. If she says no then my next option is to contact some people at st. johns which is where I went to college and see if I can do it there.
