Lighting Cost

Hi, does anyone know how much a basic lighting package costs? I have seen some bride's pictures and with the added lighting the rh looks so amazing. Thanks for the info

Re: Lighting Cost

Thank you. I'm new to the whole planning process (got enagaged last mo and still looking for a RH) I am thinking of having a band it seems from some bride's pictures that maybe they hired a lighting design company and was wondering about what that might cost. I know I am getting way ahead of myself...I think I should focus on finding the RH first

Re: Lighting Cost

Most DJ's have packages that include it from what I've seen. As far as pricing goes I'm not sure, I have my first DJ appointment tonight & two next week.

Re: Lighting Cost

from my experience....the pricing varies a lot. it depends on what u need done and the type of lights and how much u need (and the place)....your best bet is to figure out what u want and what u need...then ask around.

you can get lighting through a dj, a florist, or go to a lighting company (or like an event design company).

Re: Lighting Cost

Thanks for the info. If I can swing it I woould love to get extra lighting that includes our initials on the dance floor and fabric on the ceiling. But I still have to book a RH first!!

Re: Lighting Cost

I'm actually looking into hiring a lighting/design company. I know alot of the DJs have lighting but they rent it from the wholesaler and jack up the prices. And if its not over priced, the DJ companies that actually own the lights aren't nearly as nice as the lights with the lighting companies. I'm trying to go for a more classic/romantic feel rather than a clubby vibe which is why I'm leaning towards lighting companies. I've been shopping around and the two vendors in liweddings are by far the cheapest I've found. I really liked Luminous Designs. Thought Dan was really helpful. But World of Illumination is cheaper (but less accomodating). I would recommend them if you dont want to break the bank.

If money is no object I would recommend these companies. they are in the (4k-7k range)

Hope this helps!

Re: Lighting Cost

I plan on doing lighting for my wedding. I called 2 places for quotes, it varies although I think it may be cheaper if you do it through your DJ. Not sure though.

I will probably book with a vendor here on LIW because they gave me a great quote. I would be getting perimiter lighting around the room, monogram on the dancefloor (gobo) and pinspots on the centerpieces. My quote was for under 2K.
