My FH and I were talking, and he thinks it's a good idea to have a limo drive us to the hotel after the wedding since we'll be tired. I have 2 questions:
What limo company are you using?
How much do you think it will cost to just pick us up at Jericho Terrace after the reception and drive us to the Wingate Inn? Probably there will be waiting around a bit, since we'll be gathering our things and getting ready to leave.
Thanks!

Re: Limo question!!
I heard that it's better just to get a town car to pick you up after the reception. Less expensive.
I don't have a limo company yet. Plan on looking soon though.

Re: Limo question!!
So far all the limo companys I met with offered to either 1. Take us to the hotel after reception or 2. Take us to the airport for our honeymoon with 1 week of the wedding.
You should definitely be able to negotiate this. Good luck.

Same here. This is what we are using to take us to our hotel in the city...it's a lot less than what they quoted for a limo to take us.

Thanks. But can I have that be the only thing the limo does for us? We don't want a limo during the day, just for the end of the night.

JMO - I don't think you need to spend the money on a limo for the end of the night. I would look into a town car to take you to the hotel.

yes, this has been the same thing with the limo companies my FH and I met with--IF you book a limo with them for your wedding (which i'm not sure, by your post, that you are getting a limo for your wedding or not) i know most brides do but i didn't want to assume since all don't necesseraly get a limo. if you are getting one, then they usually throw that in (or like above, choice #2 for your HM). if you are not getting a limo, i would suggest (to keep costs down) a towncar or maybe the shuttle that some hotels provide?? not sure if your hotel is providing one but that's usually included when you book room(s). i would guestimate that the towncar would cost you around $200-$250 for a pick-up/drop-off. i've done similar things before and priced them as well. i can definitely recommend royalty (in the area of jericho terrace) as a good limo company, speak to manny--he's good with prices, especially if you mention LIW. other than that, the only thing i can think of is see if someone who is staying at the hotel and will have their car there will give you guys a lift?? it all depends on what you want to spend. good luck with everything!!

oh ok so i figured right about how you were not going to get a limo for your day...
then i would definitely, if you want a car, go with a towncar--it's going to be the least amount of money and like i said above, $200-$250, in that area... I've done it before for things.

Now, would I get a town car from a limo company? Or are there specific town car companies? I'm so clueless. I never even thought to do this until my FH said he didn't want to have to drive us to the hotel after the wedding. I figure if we're going to get a ride, then why not make it cosy and romantic instead of bumming a ride with family?

I'm just doing a pickup/dropoff with Cruise Control and I believe I'm paying $175 plus tax and gratuity. They were the cheapest I found for just a dropoff

You can call a limo company or you can call a car service company (you can find a bunch of companies in the phone book) and ask for a town car.

Re: Limo question!!
We're using AllStar limo - they are very responsive, have beautiful cars, and a large business (lots of backup cars).
In our package, they included 1 town car for eiher reception to hotel, or airport pickup or drop off. Sounds like this is what you need.
I think most limo companies offer this...if they don't, negotiate it in, and if they're not flexible - move on.

Re: Limo question!!
We are using Double Diamond Limos and they are throwing that in for free but I think it is going to be a town car and not a limo

Re: Limo question!!
We're just getting a car service. It made no sense to have our limos wait around for us for the entire reception, and most limo companies have minimums.
We figured that as long as we didn't have to ride in a nasty cab, a town car would be fine, and cost a lot less.

A pick up and drop off shouldn't cost you more than $200. Check with the limo companies listed on the LIW limo vendor page. A town car will be less expensive than a limo.
As for the waiting around part, give them a pick up time of 15-30 minutes past the end of your reception so you don't get charged for the down time.
