What kind of Vodka, beer, etc.. does you catering hall offer? I know Top Shelf, but that does not always mean Premier.
Mine serves Absolute, Stoli and maybe 2 others, but not Kettle One or Grey Goose and I am starting to feel like I need to make a phone call.

Re: LIQUOR AT YOUR HALL?
I'm not actually sure, we're going to the hall 15 days before the wedding to discuss everything.

I never even thought to ask what brands they carry. I did request something and they added it no charge.

you should definitely be able to make a request without them charging. that's ridiculous. but do you think your guests will really care if there's absolut and not grey goose?
yes, a lot of people would.
I have heard people complain about that at weddings...
I am not saying they should be complaining or that you should care (bc you are still providing open bar) - just letting you know that people do notice or make comments...
but again, its your day!

Re: LIQUOR AT YOUR HALL?
My Fh wanted to make sure we got all top shelf, and you must be careful b/c topshelf means different things to different halls We made sure we had greygoose and all the others. I really dont care either way but the guests will . i would say to call and verify even if you get it in writing would be good

Re: LIQUOR AT YOUR HALL?
My FH and I are having TOP Shelf BUT we also made an additional list of different liquors to be added so we basically covered all of our bases.

Re: LIQUOR AT YOUR HALL?
We made a decision not to have hard liquor. It's a Sunday afternoon wedding, who really needs a Scotch or a mixed drink? Our hall has open bar, top shelf, plus wine and draft beer. Well, the draft beer is Coors and Bud. Ick. I don't drink anymore, but I hated them when I did. Bottled beer was another $3 a head, which is a lot when you add it up. So we traded them: get in Sam Adams and Beck's, and no hard liquor. I know our guests, they're going to drink a LOT of the good beer, some wine, and if anyone desperately needs a mixed drink, there's the pub around the side of the building for the golf course. Besides, we have a few hard drinkers in the family, both sides, and this is better. Not that you can't get smashed on beer and wine, but it's slower.

Mine serves Stoli and Absolut. I requested Belvedere because they did not have it. :)

Re: LIQUOR AT YOUR HALL?
polish wedding... we're going to need good vodka... that said, usually, catering halls don't have great stuff.... but our 'ultra premium bar' at least has grey goose and stoli... I think we also get goslings rum with that...
that will do.... can't do shots with low quality vodka... would make people sick!
this bar is $27/ pp extra for a 4 hour reception

Re: LIQUOR AT YOUR HALL?
Usually they will allow you to replace a certain liquor with something of equal or lesser value.
I am going to have to substitute some beer for coronas. They are going to have bacardi and Jack so my family is good.

It is Illegal in NY and every catering hall has a 'No Shot' policy in your contract. Don't be too concerned with it, you can still get your drink on.
