Literally

Literally

Has to be one of the most overused words --

The man will say, 'I literally could not believe it.'

To which I say, 'As opposed to figuratively not believing it?'

Someone on E! was doing a report on Britney, 'She is literally on a roller coaster ride.'

No, I think you mean that figuratively.

I. Can't. Handle. It.

Someone follow with their own word pet peeve. Please.

Re: Literally

It drives me crazy when people say 'Valentimes' day and actually think that's how you say it! It's cute when kids say it like that, but I know a woman in her late 40's that says it like that! so annoying!!!!

Re: Literally

agreed.

i also hate when people mispronounce it - dont say Lit -it-ar-ley - it makes me want to pop you in the mouth.

its only 4 syllables - not 6 or 8 or 10.

Re: Literally

also annoying is when people say 'volumptuous' instead of voluptuous. There's no 'm'in that word!!!!!

AMAZING........

Oh my God, that sweater is AMAZING
That cookie is AMAZING
My new immersion blender is AMAZING (well, maybe...)

The Grand Canyon, however, is AMAZING.

Sometimes I just say amazing when I have nothing else to say. I know it will be perfectly accepted.

Drives me crazy when people say 'conversating' (not even a word!!!) instead of 'conversing'.
Also when people say 'mines' instead of 'mine'.

I have come to despise that word, simply because of its overuse.

It's ok, this is NWR, you're safe here.

***Agree on all counts***

My addition:
Li-berry
'Youse' (plural 'you'?)

Pretty much anything that shows me just how ignorant you really are.
