Literally

Original post by JanuaryBride06

Has to be one of the most overused words --

The man will say, 'I literally could not believe it.'

To which I say, 'As opposed to figuratively not believing it?'

Someone on E! was doing a report on Britney, 'She is literally on a roller coaster ride.'

No, I think you mean that figuratively.

I. Can't. Handle. It.

Someone follow with their own word pet peeve. Please.

AMAZING........

Oh my God, that sweater is AMAZING
That cookie is AMAZING
My new immersion blender is AMAZING (well, maybe...)

The Grand Canyon, however, is AMAZING.

Sometimes I just say amazing when I have nothing else to say. I know it will be perfectly accepted.

I am guilty of this offense.

Re: Literally

I like when people use literally incorrectly cause then I can mock them and/or judge them silently. Plus when people say literally in absurd situations (she literally ate a ton of Twinkies), it is kind of hilarious. If everyone used proper English, the world would be such a snoozefest.

And since we are talking about Twinkies, JessicaM. - the world would like to know what Hostess delicious treat you were telling us you abhored. I actually stared at the Hostess section in the Grocery Store to try to figure it out, but all I could think was 'deliciousness'

I must have blocked out that part of the convo due to trauma to my psyche :)

oh that is ok. SHe said yellow, so it must be those yellow cupcakes. Those were always inferior to their chocolately counterparts.
