So I have been talking to friends who've gotten married recently and they keep saying it's all the little extra things they did that made the wedding so memorable. Is anyone doing anything extra for their wedding??

I'm doing a lot of extras but most of them are DIY so they won't be terribly expensive.
Me too!

I hope to do most myself, but any ideas would be much appreciated!

Re: Little Extras....
I did : Photo booth that came with scrapbook Coaster place cards/ favors (also fit photo booth pic) Table camera scavenger hunt Table numbers (everyone had a different pic of DH and I) Channa plaque Finger print guest sign in tree Uplighting Name gobo Personalized napkins Special toasting flutes for MOH and BM E-pics of DH and I on the mantle Anniversary dance for couple married the longest, gave them a personalized wine bottle to thank them for being an inspiration
If I had to go back the only extra things I would have done would have been the pretzel cart outside while waiting for valet and personalized air freshener left in the car by the valet!
And h extra things make a big difference, the women at you wedding will def notice!!

i agree, i think it is the little things that make your wedding memorable.
it doesn't have to be expensive...i am doing menus, programs, escort cards (they will all be matching). plus it will be cheap because i am doing them myself. i am also having the personalized beverage napkins from theknot.
also the bathroom basket is a good idea. it should not be more then $60. you can get the items at the dollar store and the baskets at michael's.
the flip flop basket is a bit more expensive. i won't be doing this. i think the guests can worry about their own feet (hope that doesn't sound mean)
the best for last....i recently saw a post about the bride and groom toilet paper. it is so cuteeeeeeeeeeee. i will definitely be ordering a few.
hope these little suggestions help
those are all good ideas!!
edited to add mine The things I'd like to do: Cocktail napkins personalized water bottles Matchbooks I'm still deciding if I want to do the bathroom baskets or not

We are doing our table numbers and I think they are going to be the numbers with us at that age....(ex. table 1 will have fh and i at age 1) and I will be making them myself.
bags.
I'm doing this.... it took me forever to find the three slot picture frames, but i found them for $2.50 at Walmart!!! I highly suggest grabbing them soon. I had to go to five walmarts to collect all 16. If you want more info let me know....
this was totally my plan!!! however his mom doesnt seem to have any pictures of him growing up... i have to reach out to his family. i had thought just put both pics and table number in one frame, but the 3 slot frame is a good idea!

Re: Little Extras....
LOL. This is funny bc a week ago there was a post to past brides about what they spent money on that they didn't really need, and could have cut back on, and that nobody really noticed in the grand scheme of things... All of the little extras that I'm doing I'm making myself, so that it has a little of my personality but not a huge amount of money. A lot of websites have creative ideas.

Re: Little Extras....
We are going to put a bunch of pictures in frames all over the place (on top of piano, bar, escort card table, etc) of family and friends who will be there. I think it will be cute for guests to see throwback pics of themselves, and hopefully it will let everone know they are there b/c they are, were, and will always be part of our life together.
Plus it's a darn good excuse for me to buy cute frames whenever they're on sale! I'll never have to buy another one as long as I live!
We're also doing a photobooth and giving out frames as favors to go with the theme

I'm thinking about doing the personalized napkins more and more, and the matchbooks. I think it would be cute! Thanks ladies!
This may be a stupid question, but how many napkins should I get??

Re: Little Extras....
Channa plaque Names of different wines instead of table #s DIY escort cards Uplighting Personalized cake topper that's made to look sorta like us Photo card box DIY flower girl basket and ring bearer pillows Menus (but I think this is becoming more standard) Might be doing pics around one of the rooms, not sure yet OOT baskets, well only those that book rooms will get one!
I wanted a photobooth, but it's not in our budget!
I don't think people really notice the little things. And they tend to forget them later anyway. Ask someone what the color of the linens or what the flowers were like at the last 3 weddings they went to and they prob won't remember. If they can't remember what they were sitting at for 4 hours would they remember that there was personalized napkins when they got their drink at CH? Or what they put the card in? This stuff is really more for me! And my pics!!

Re: Little Extras....
We are having a custom ice sculpture, a few fun things at the cocktail hour (like a margarita bar), and a surprise treat for our guests when they leave. We are also including a homemade baked goody in the welcome bag. It will be packaged in a little box that says it was made with love by the bride and groom.

Re: Little Extras....
My FBIL is a graphic designer and FOB is in the stationary business so we're combining their skills and having a whole paper suite designed for us to unify the whole thing: invitations, response cards, programs (if we do them), escort cards, 'in lieu of favor' (we're doing a donation) cards, 'menu' cards, table numbers, etc...
We're also having lighting throughout the reception space (our DJ hooked us up) that will help to incorporate our colors more.
We're going to have a speciality cocktail served when guests enter the reception hall and throughout the celebration (we'll have a recipe card on the bar that matches everything else)
