Live with FH?

Do you all live with your FH? We are moving in together soon but worried about the whole premarital backlash thing from the family.

FH and I dont live together and I would never even think of it - that is just me! I want it to be a completely new experience when we are newlyweds! call me a hopeless romantic, lol!

No we don't live together right now and won't until after the wedding. Like Matilde and some of you other girls I guess you could say I fall into that hopeless romantic category.

I just feel like by not living with him before hand I'll still have something new and exciting to look forward to after all the wedding planning is over and we pretty much know everything about one another, quirks included so I'm not too concerned about being unable to resolve issues that come with living with another person.

Setting up home as 'man and wife' is something that has always meant a lot to me.

Either way we're all in it for the long haul whether you live together now or you wait until after you get married.

lol no i guess not - i am just curious bc lots of people say that its harder if you dont live together before you are married. . . so i just want to hear different opinions on it! i think its an individual choice and different things work best for different couples. some people think it is 'naive' to not live together before the wedding. . .so i am just putting my point out there too!

and you are definitely 100% right, even if we aren't living together, engaged or married - he is stuck with me and he has been for the past nine years!

we don't live together, but we just bought a house together. I am not moving in right away b/c we are going to redo a lot of things and I don't won't to live there while things are getting ripped up.

I would moved in right away but I am trying to respect my mom as much as possible (old school italian). I will move in prob six months before we get married just to get the house situated. In the mean time I will be there part time. (on weekends, his days off, etc)

We live together and i feel it is the best decision that we made. We are workin out all the little quirks. Thats one less thing to worry about after the wedding. You really learn so much about a person after you begin living with them. As for what the family thinks... i think that since you are engaged already it should be ok.

We have lived together for over 2 years now, we moved in when we realized FH had only spent 1 night out of thirty in his own place!!

I think it's personal preference for everyone, but I think it was a good thing for FH who used to say I'm never getting married, I don't believe in marriage blah blah... then after living together and realizing how domesticated he actually was was when he popped the question.

Plus it gave us time to work out all the kinks that goes along with sharing the space and learning all of our disgusting and annoying habits, we are so used to them now. Sadly flatulance and flatulance discussion is a huge part of living together....

we live together, it's been almost for 2 years! at first i thought i wanted to wait till we were married, for the same reason as a lot of you...it's a new experience, it makes things new, etc... but we decided to move in together when i finished college b/c living at home with my parents really was not working for me (it was hard moving home after living on my own in college for 5 years)...and at that point FH and i were already pretty serious, so we decided to move in together. it helped me since we were able to split the rent and it just made sense since we were already together most of the time anyway. it was just the next step for us. i am SO glad we did b/c we really learned so much about each other and we realized that we COULD live together. which was why we decided to get married. there was definately an adjustment period for us and some ups and downs. it was right for us. bu ti understand not for everyone. my parents were not happy at first but they are definately over it now.
