Living In Sin

I just wanted to start a thread for future brides already living with their FH. I am and I wanted a place to vent about how it affects the wedding and everyday life!

funny title..

2 years ago, FH and I were saving to move in with one another, but we realized we should just save our money while we live at home. Now that we are engaged I want to wait to move in with FH. I want the first night together at OUR home to be when we are married.

Sinner here!

I've lived with FH for 2 years, but it really hasn't effected the wedding planning at all.

Living in sin...and loving it! I actually like living with him now because there will be no surprises after we're married! It's fun to have him always around

I agree!! By the time we get married, we will be living together for 2 1/2 years. It was the best thing I ever did

If we are not religious is it still considered living in sin???
My parents lived together before also.

We are not getting married in a place of worship also. so not sure if its a sin then.

We lived in an apartment first, for 2 years, it was really nice. Then I came to work at his company in october of 2005. That was pretty hard adjusting. Living and working together is rough but it has alot of benefits. We are the 3rd generation in his family to do that.

In August 2006, we bought our house. Living in the house is sooo much better, we have more space and room. And it really feels like we are a family.

I will be honest. IF we DID NOT have a house there is no way we would ever consider spending the amount of money we are on a wedding. Even if someone was paying for the wedding, we would of taken that money and saved it.

I feel really secure that we have the house now, and can plan a wedding and not have to worry where we are going to live afterwards.

Re: Living In Sin

We are living in sin!!!
My family lives in Atlanta so I moved straight from my dorm room to my own apartment and FH technically lived at home but pretty much lived with me the whole time. He officially moved in about 8 months ago, which was a huge help financially and allowed me to quit my job and persue my dream career which pretty much meant cutting my salary in half

Sometimes I wish that could have waited until after we were married to move in and have that whole experience, but it made life a lot easier and hopefully we will be able to purchase a condo or house together right after we get married and build a new home together that way.

I am not religious or getting married in a church either. Half of my family is religious and my father is pushing that I be married by a 'man of god', but I just call it living in Sin because so many other people refer to it that way!
FHs parents lived together before they got married and my parents got married because my mom was pregnant (and divorced less than a year later) so they couldn't really say anything to me!
We agreed long before we were engaged that we were going to live together before we were married to make sure that we could live with eachother. (SO FAR SO GOOD!!!!)

Does it count as living in sin when my FH is never home to sleep with?

Re: Living In Sin

I know this will sound weird, but FH & I have been living together the entire time we've been together. It's weird, but it works.

When we first started dating, I told him to go home, but he lived with his sister & BIL who had 2 YOUNG kids, and I knew I wouldnt want to be 22 and living with kids who are a newborn and 8.

He went home a matter of 2 times I believe?

He always slept over but the roommates didn't care, cause he'd clean too!!!

Re: Living In Sin

i dont consider it a sin either, i mean, its just an expression - figure of speech

if it is a sin, then we sin everyday with so many other things like

sleeping togther (sex)
birth control (sex is for procreation only???)
etc.
so whats the difference if youre doing the other things as well??!?!?!?!
i think it also depends on your age - if i was younger, my parents would not be happy about it but i am older, established in my career and they couldnt really say anything

I am the same way. We have both been saving to buy a house. I am not sure when we will purchase one and I do hope it is soon but at the same time I want to live with him after we get married. ALthough I hate it when we fall asleep together and he gets up to go home in the middle of the night.
