How many of you are renting.. or buying a condo/townhouse.. or buying a house?

We currently are living together in an apartment that we rent. Our hope is to put any money we get from the wedding into our account which will turn from the wedding fund to the house fund. We are hoping a year or two after the wedding that we are able to purchase a house.

All along,we planned on buying a house before the wedding but now we're thinking it might be a little too overwhelming... we might rent just for a year first.

Once we get married we will most likely be in our apartment a little longer then start looking for a house!!

FH owns a co-op and I have been living with him for 2 years already. About a year or so after the wedding we ideally would like to won a house. So we are thinking that we will sell the co-op, use any monetary gifts from the wedding and our parents both said they would help out - to buy a house.

we're living in FH's grandma's house that was left to him, but the taxes are too much for us to afford.

We're in the midst of selling it, and we wanna buy a condo

we want to buy right away. trying to save as much as we can so that's a reality. my grandma lives in brooklyn and she said we can rent her 3rd floor apartment in her house for as long as we need (for dirt cheap) but it's far from the city and i work in melville, so i'm not quite sure what we're going to do.

the goal is to buy a house right now. we'll see where we are in 6 months from now.

We rent now together. Our lease will be up next October, so hoping to figure out a game plan soon. Either rent somewhere else or look into buyign something!

FH and I bought a condo back in June, around 3 months after we got engaged...he lives there now and i will be moving in when we get married...we hope to stay there for at least a few years and maybe after we have our first child...its a nice size so well be comfortable =)

there's no way we can afford a house after this wedding so we'll be renting for a year or 2 after we get married
