What does everyone plan on doing about their living situation. FI and I really want to buy before we get married. We might go to the condo/coop route. What's everyone elses plan??

we live together already but we are renting. when he comes home from deployment we have decided to start looking for a house. now is a awesome time to get a house if you can get into one now with all the rates low and the market is so low people are dropping prices like crazy just to sell.

Ahhh yes the living situation. . . We were living at FH's house that was bought with his brother. The brother decided on his own to take it over when he knocked up his girlfriend and then married her. So FH and brother weren't getting along. So after a year we moved out today. My grandfather has a basement apartment and we asked him if we could rent it so he is charging us next to nothing. BUTTTTT. . . it was very outdated so we have been cleaning and painting. We moved out today, got our stuff into the apartment and I still have to finish cleaning, I'm obsessed with things being clean so it's beginning to be a problem. VERY frustrated right now. But it will be worth it in the end when we save alot within the next year. We plan on building in the pocono area so we can commute to work in NYC!

Right now FH and I are living in a room in my parents basement..yep..living the high life!!
About 6months before the wedding, we're going to have contractors come in and re-do the upstairs apartment and then we are going to rent that from my parents - cheap rent!! Then that will allow us to save for a house..we're calling it out 3yrs plan!

We are living in FH's parents house for a year then we are buying the house for a cheap price when FMIL and FFIL move to South Carolina. The house is already built but they are waiting to retire before moving.

living together now in a rental with plans to save like crazy for the house/wedding fund, and put our gifts toward a down payment on something.
we'll see w/ the cost of fuel. i'm not sure how the mortgage will fit in on top of rising gasoline, heat, and electricity prices.

FH bought a house in Lido Beach earlier this year and I moved in with him a few months ago because I was spending $1000 a month on an apartment I was never at.
