IMO, it should be mandatory for a couple to live together first. Sleeping over each other's place is NOT like living together.

Could not agree more....We got raised eyebrows..not from my parents but definately others...I absolutely stand by the idea that it was the best decision we made!!

I was against it at least before we got engaged but I must say it was the best decision I ever made!

CONGRATS!
and my FI and I have lived together almost 11 years now. It's not really anyone's business but your're own if you want to live together before hand.

Don't worry about what other people think. There's no reason why you shouldn't move in together now. Congrats on your new place!

I'm with you guys!! There are so many disagreements we've gotten out of the way because we've lived together for so long. We moved in together after dating 3 months. No one said a thing, at least not to our faces.

I can't imagine going threw all this stress and then moving in together! I would question our relationship over every fight with all that pressure.

You NEVER know a certain side of a person (good or bad) until you live together I don't care what anyone says.

CONGRATS!!!

When I went to pre-cana they tried to give us the whole divorce-rate-is-higher-when-you-live-together thing but then FH started a huge debate about why their reasoning was not sound, it was really funny actually.

You are not kids, you guys are getting married, its not like you are rushing into things blindly and you will break up in 2 months.

I would have LOVED to see your FH having that discussion with them.

I truly agree that living together before the wedding is so much better. I lived with an ex for a few years and realized he wasn't the one for me. Had I not done that, I know I would be divorced from him. Do what you think is right for you and FH. You could always tell them you'd prefer to 'break in' your new bed before your big day so they should just get over it!

I live with me to and when people give a look and i'm like it is my choice not theres and i think it is better to live before then after so you know how they are.

CONGRATS on your new place!! FH and I have been living together for 2 years already! In fact we lived together before we were even engaged. But whatever, let people think what they want. I got the same reaction when they heard I was 'living with my boyfriend' and look at us now. Completely happy with a wedding right around the corner and no regrets. So go for yours chica!!
