I started the south beach diet.. day 2 today... it really makes you realize how many bad things you were eating!!! I thought I was good but without the carbs.. I can see why I wasnt loosing weight... I did weight watchers and lost 35 lbs.. and kept it off!!! It just started to creep back on me.. what program are you doing? Core or flex?

Re: Living up to resolution ( Weight Watchers)
I am a voluntary moderator on another site called Calorie Count though I am not affilliated in any way financially (it's a free site anyway!).
I just volunteer my time since I had such good success.
I found it online in May and being a member there and posting on the forums has been instrumental for me in losing losing 30 lbs in 2007 - I am now a fabulous size 0-2 at roughly 5'1'-5'2'.
It taught me what is good food and bad food by the simple mathematical method of Calorie Counting. I learned the caloric AND nutritional value of each food item I ate an average of 1500 calories a day for 5 months and voila - RESULTS! It is similar in concept to Weight Watchers but I like it better because it's based on actualy nutritional value rather than an obscure points system so I think it's more sustainable through life .... which is the key as I have kept the weight off and stopped dieting in September!
Send me a PM if you are interested in the link.
Btw, I decided recently that I would still like to lose 3-5 lbs to lose to be at my all-time perfect weight and now for my New Year's resolution this year I have given up bowls of rice. Eating rice has been a downfall as I am a carb addict! In 2007 I gave up all fast food (no McDonald's since 2006!) and also I recently gave up caffeine. I feel great and can totally help people to achieve the same results. Believe me, if my lazy *** can do it, so can you!!!
Good luck to all you brides, you can do it no matter what the plan!!!!

Re: Living up to resolution ( Weight Watchers)
I have been on WW for years...I have lost 60lbs and went from a size 16 to a 6....even in a size 4 today! Check out the before and after pictures in my album.
I like WW because it is not a diet...I still eat all the foods I enjoy, I just have to account for everything I eat. Works for me! I love it and I am only 10lbs away from my goal weight!

Re: Living up to resolution ( Weight Watchers)
I lost about 8 lbs on WW over the past few months. Less than what I had planned on, but its better than gaining. I did both core and flex, but liked core better because those are the kinds of foods I usually eat anyway.

Wow good for you!! FH and I tried the fat smash diet like 4 times, by day 3 we're completely famished lol and we go out for a nice non-healthy meal..i wish I could stick to it, but like you said, you crave the foods you know you CANT have. Makes you feel like you're starving yourself
FH and I are joining WW next week. I've done it before and had great results

hi! i re-joined weight watchers on jan 1st--so far this is my 3rd day on and i'm doing great! its not even about the wedding for me (at least not totally) i just want to be healthy and live a long life with my FH and hopefully kids someday.
i'm doing the online program (i did it years ago and lost about 30 pounds which i put back on of course). i may try going to meetings on the weekends but i'm going to try online first!
btw, i was in b&n last night and happened to see a new ww book on their front table. it's a whole book of inspiring stories by people who have lost weight on the plan. so far it's awesome and really is giving me motivation!

Thanks for the info on the book. I do love to read. I am happy that everyone responded. I wanted to post this so I can remember what I am trying to do.
Maybe we should have an 08 slim down thread?
