We may live in my parents house for a couple of months to save for a house if we don't find one earlier than that. They have a full finished basement and it would be rent free.

Nope. We live in our own apartment relatively close to his parents house and my mom's house.

no way! i've been living with my parents to save $$ for the wedding, as FH has lived with his mom for the same reason....and once we are hubby & wife....i simply could not imagine living with either one of our families. i'd rather live in a closet than live with them. but that's just cause i'm so excited about finally living with my FH, that i just want private time for him and i!

However, I can understand why alot of you guys are doing that...it is def. a great way to save money for an apt or for a house.

I'll kinda be living with my MIL... she owns a mother daughter house, so she's gonna be in one apt. and we'll be in the other... I dont mind though, cause she's very good at giving us our space (and FH is VERY good at reading my face and telling his mom to back off or go away or whatever the instance calls for.)

Nope. We own our own house, they own their own house. We don't need to live together. Even if they didn't have a house, they wouldn't live with us and I wouldn't want them to. They are nice people and I like them... BUT his mom and dad are SUPER clean freaks. And kids who spill, knock stuff over and a dog who jumps all over EVERYTHING would make them MISERABLE!

nope, we will have our own apartment when we get married.....I would want my own privacy...at any cost...

The house we bought its about 10 minutes away from my parents as well as his.

My parents owns a 2 family house and are remodeling the upsatirs apt. for us. All new everything We will live there for a couple of years to save money and buy a house of our own.

We have our own apt and will live there after the wedding. We may move in with my mom after a year to save money to buy a house. She has an apartment on half of the second floor that we would live in. My dad just passed and she is lonely so it would be a win win. Plus I love my mom and she is so active that she is out alot. Gotta convince FH of that but saving 13K a year in rent is a big selling point.

We lived with my parents for two years before we got our own place. Although I love my parents very much there is nothing like having your own place and privacy. I still live like 5 minutes away from my parents, and I wouldn't want to be far from them.

NOPE, FH HAS A CONDO, BUT HES LOOKING TO SELL SO WE CAN GET A HOUSE.....

YES

They are so good to us-- don't get me wrong they are just tuff to deal with sometimes. It all depends on his Mom's mood-- she is menopausal so when she is not having a good day lol she is hard to deal with so I just avoid her but when she is having a good day she is great-- and I talk to her a lot, I tell her a lot... but it's hard b/c she has the type of personality that she can be nosey sometimes and she chalks it up to the fact that 'she cares' but it's like c'mon-- don't be asking me how much we spend and how much our string quartet is (when we are paying for it) and how much i make lol she is so concerned but if she would word it better-- like 'are you guys doing ok financially with the wedding?' rather than 'how much is THAT gonna cost?!' lol i know she means well..

but we do have our own space in the house-- our own living area and it's totally seperate, seperate entrance and they are going to be putting their house up in the spring and looking for something with EVEN more room for us and a full kitchen-- the whole shibang! so it's exciting

so we have good days and bad but overall i really do like them and they are good people.

There's no way!!! I like my privacy with my FH and I wouldnt want to have to worry about being quiet so everyone isnt in our business. I couldnt live with my mother before there's absolutely no way I would live with her or his family before or after we get married
