LIW Bridal Shower

So I've been crashing the 08 board all day today - I'm home sick from work and looking to procrastinate and not grade 90 8-10 page research papers - but I saw on Kimbalina's albums that they 08 girls threw a bridal shower for themselves! Isn't that a great idea for a gtg! Have you girls talked about doing something like that already? I know I'm relatively new here. If so, I'd love to help out and be involved. If not, would anyone be interested in the idea of all of us having a shower gtg?

That would be so much fun. I know we have talked about it before. I am so in to help with the planning.

First we need to know how many guests. Some places will give us a good deal for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon event in one of there smaller rooms. We could even do a Sunday brunch somewhere that would be nice too.

I think we should do it between August-October only because every has summer plans and then as it gets closer to the holidays people try to save more money for that.

Maybe we can start a group of people who want to plan this.

I am moved - haha... my stuff is already there it is just my job that's not! I'm in... I was only saying it would need to be earlier if we wanted to have it at my parent's house... but whenever is good for me... even if I'm done in Baltimore, I could come up for the weekend... my FH has been doing it every month for the past three years

Something in a backyard would be fun too!!!

I have noticed that with so many people sometimes its actually cheaper to do it at a place, as weirdas that sounds.

hmmmim going to say im leaning towards aug.
so do you girls think we should make it like a pot-luck thing where everyone brings something... or should we maybe have a caterer tyoe thing where they can bring in heros, salads etc.. or should we do a BBQ thing?

I think we should get a number of people who think they are going to come first. Who ever is going to collect money needs to do it before the event so no one can back out last minute then the rest of us are stuck paying more.

I am for catering

here is an idea- my sister's bf is the caterer at a hibernian hall in babylon- they have a party room and may be able to getr hall at disocunt from him and i think catered food and open bar- believe it or not might be 6-8 pp for food and $8 pp for liquor
