Let's start a thread indicating as many LIW tips we can think of.
For instance, you can unsubscribe to by clicking the 'unsubscribe' link that appears in the email you receive.
Or like how you can not change your Avatar message (under your screen name/pic), until you reach 1,001 posts.
As much as most of us are on, I'm sure that we can still learn a thing, or two, that we didn't know about, to make our LIW experience smoother.

Re: LIW INSTRUCTIONS
This is very helpful. I would appreciate any tips since I don't know any. Thanks for this thread. I have a question- How do you get 1 of the emotion icons to come over here, it does not work when I just click on it?

If you want to put an icon somewhere specific, you have to copy/paste it's info into the spot. LIW still doesn't offer that, and it inserts the icon at the very end of your text.
OR, the shortcut is just typing it out yourself. You can just type : toast : or : shock : for the icons to appear without having to reach for that mouse. (Make sure that you don't include space between the :: like I did - did that so that the words appear, and not the emotion icons ).

Let's try and find the thread on the abbreviations. And attach the link here so the newbies (and anyone for that matter) can refer to it.

If you change the picture in your avatar (I think that is what you call it) you need to hit the refresh button to see it.

Re: LIW INSTRUCTIONS
One more is, if you start typing a response to FM (Forum Mail), or a post, and then click on a link (by accident, most of the times), you will lose everything you typed when you try to head back.

Re: LIW INSTRUCTIONS
My favorite is the invite list. Under 'my wedding' there is an 'A' 'B' and 'C' list. I use the 'C' list for the bridal shower guests. Very helpful!!
I also look forward to the seating chart feature where you can easily move guest around from table to table!!!

Re: LIW INSTRUCTIONS
Okay, here's a few
-- Pictures must be in either .gif or .jpg format in order to post
-- Pictures must be 60kb or less to post
You can check these things by right-clicking on the picture file and going to 'properties'. Or if you have Windows XP just hover over it with your mouse.
You can convert a picture that is in .bmp format to .jpg by opening it with Paint (most people have this installed on their PCs) ... go to Start, Programs, Accessories, then open the file and select file -> save as, then choose jpeg from the file type drop down list.

Re: LIW INSTRUCTIONS
If you are new to the site and have questions, search for the topics because 9 times outa 10 there are more then one thread discussing it.
FWIW: I LOVE the guest list and seating chart functions!!!!!

Re: LIW INSTRUCTIONS
I have a question:
Everytime I try to change the pic in my chat avatar in never seems to change. Sometimes a pic that I tried to use will show up out of no where. What am I doing wrong? and Why does a pic just show up? Any ideas???
