It took 2 years to get the banister done and we still have a bit more to do but.....

before pics- note the creepy little girl by the bottom of the stairs. The people who owned our house before us were a bit strange.... oh yes, that is a 'time out' doll.

I just have to comment on that doll. I used to put my children in the corner for just a minute or two, thinking it was darn better than hitting or yelling, or sending them to their room to be alone. It obviously didn't bother them much either, they laugh at it now and are actually annoyed that I didn't save the piece of wood paneling that they would run their finger up and down on. But when I first saw a doll like that, I got so upset I started to cry right in the store. I hated the memory it brought back and how my poor babies were made to stand there. I hate those things - and they have no faces!
Just look at the stairs and the dank looking room to realize how strange these people's taste was. Congratulations on a great job with that banister. I bet the rest of the house is really great too.

LImom- Just think about how great your kids grew up! I must be heartbreaking to think about it, but it's much better than hitting! JMO! The dolls are really scary though arent they? Esp. without faces!

You are right. Thank God my 4 kids all turned out to be caring, responsible adults who are sensitive of other people. It's just those dolls are PERMANENTLY facing the wall and you are right, the lack of faces are scary. Not everyone sees it that way, I guess.
