For a few minutes stop thinking about how u are going to pay for things and start thinking about something u can just have - since ur office shower is on wednesday I only have a few days left to shop - like today - mon. i don't want to pick a random thing off some registry list so please tell me what you REALLY want i want it to be something you'll really like.....

Don't be upset. My boss just told me that my office shower will be on June 9th. I asked why he told me and he said he was so afraid that I was going to take off a random day for something wedding related and it would be the day they planned everything.
Telling you is just a way to make sure you don't decide to make a wedding related appt that day or if you have to make your appt that day, you can tell your coworkers and they can reschedule.
Besides, wouldn't you want to know so you could wear some pretty and cute? I know I will!

LOL. I was going home sick the day of my work shower so they had to tell me it was that day. I had a really bad sinus infection but I stuck it out til after the shower.

It was awful that your boss ruined your surprise, but I would actually be glad that someone told me. I would make it a point to wear something nice and put that extra touch when doing my makeup. Sometimes I just throw anything on when it comes close to laundry day. But the way it was worded about buying you a gift was kinda off putting. But presents are always a good thing!!

Actually, my boss almost asked me what I wanted (ie money or gifts) and the coplanner (a woman) said 'Steve you ruined surprise, stick with the registry, it's what she wants'

Um HELLO!! At least you are GETTING an office shower!! I work with an a$$hole boss, who would never give a party never mind allow one. And my 2 co-workers are too dug to even think of it. Besides, what kind of shower would be 3 people? Poor me..... well at least you will dress nice for your shower!!

I HATE when people think they are being so great and what they are really doing is ruining stuff! Why couldn't your boss just have the shower instead of making htis big deal out of it for you? WHat an a$$.
