Leave it to me and get engaged and want to be married right away!
I met with my church last night and Sep 4th was available! I was delighted as it's a Sunday (good price) BUT Labor Day weekend! The only bad thing about that is it's so popular so I am having trouble finding availability!!!
If anyone has any suggestions, knows of a cancellation or date change, let me know!!! Otherwise... the search continues. Got the church, got the band, now I'd feel SO much better with a venue.

i looked at alot of places for that date - but have my book at home - if you're willing to wait until tonight - i can look and see - where is the church so i know which places to look at

I looked at all the 'popular' places if you will. Im thinking it's going to be about 180 to 200 ??? There will be a lot of invites to Ireland so we are unsure of the count . My church is in Baldwin so I am open to all places in Long Island and west. I would prefer not to go Too far east but I guess it would depend on availability!
And by out East I mean all the way out east. Some of the nicest of places are in Suffolk!

off the top of my head my favorite places are:
The Royalton
Carlyle on the Green
Bourne Mansion
Giorgios(but its a bit far out east)
The Vineyards (also far out east)
but they are all well over 100 pp
have you checked Inn at New Hyde Park? Ive never seen it but only heard amazing things.
what about chateau la mer? captain bills?
also go to the planning tab on the board and there is a list of halls broken down by price and how many people it fits

There is always Russo's on the Bay which is in Queens right off the highway exit 17 on the belt
And you could try Vetro too which can hold up to 200 people
it is a Russo's place too

def look at the LI Hall list there is bound to be plenty of openings for that day at some place that can accomadate the size you looking to have at your wedding.

Congrats on your engagement I took notice to your picture right away because I also recently got engaged in front of the Rockefeller Center tree and....on 12/17/10! congrats!happy planning!
