Looking for opinions!

All of the weddings I've been to were evening weddings. For those if you who have been to or had afternoon weddings, did you find that people still danced and were in the mood to party?

Everyone's different. Some people danced at the afternoon wedding I was at and some didn't. They had a band, and I'm not a big fan of bands at weddings.. I prefer a dj..

I'm not really a fan of day weddings. I've only been to one. But, the DJ did a good job of getting everyone up. There def wasn't as much dancing/partying as if it were a evening wedding, but it was still a good time.

I too am not a fan of day weddings. It's my preference. My friend did a morning wedding by the beach and had a nice low key band no one danced but it was nice background music. Looking back she does regret it she loves the party atmosphere but she was very adamant about a summer wedding and the venue so she had to compromise somewhere. She said if she did it again she would have considered a different date. Again everyone dies what works for them and that's what's most important.

I am having a day wedding and after seeing my sister have a daytime wedding I am not worried at all! The food will be delicious, our place is on the water during the summer time, so people will actually get to enjoy the view and on top of that, we're throwing an after party after the reception. So it will be a FULL day event and the partying wont stop!

I went to another day wedding once, where they pulled down curtains over the windows, and you would have thought it was night time anyway. I dont think they're as bad as everyone is making them out to be! JMO

I was at a day wedding this past October and with the darker lighting in the reception room, the band trying to get everyone up and the copious amounts of alcohol the dance floor was filled for a good portion of the day. I think it all depends on the atmosphere and the guests will act accordingly.

I'm not a fan of daytime weddings at traditional venues (if that makes sense) lol... My cousin's wedding was outdoors on the beach in the afternoon and it was great! We could walk along the beach and enjoy the weather and the sun and it was just beautiful... but i went to a day wedding at a regular wedding hall and it was honestly so weird lol- they made it look like it was 8pm and it was so dark in there with club lighting and stuff and the music was blasting, but nobody was really in the mood to dance because it was like NOON! lol

Just my opinion though- It also depends on your guest list. If you have a party crowd, then they won't care what time it is!

The tone of your wedding is set by your guests and the type of music being played, regardless of if its in the morning, mid-day or evening. If you are inviting people who are not the dancing type I wouldn't blame it on the time of day. We are having a mid-day wedding and I'm not worried about people dancing at all. All of my friends dance at every wedding we've all been too.

As for quality of food for different times of day I have to totally disagree. The quality of the food depends on the venue and is not related to the time of day. I would question the quality and integrity of any venue that provides different quality of foods at different times of day. Either way I would recommend a tasting before signing your contract.

We felt a daytime wedding worked better for us as we wanted people to be able to enjoy the view of the water. It didn't make sense to us to pay for a venue with a view and then have a nighttime wedding.

I don't prefer day weddings, but if the atmosphere is right, guests will party regardless! Just recently I went to a Saturday day wedding and we partied hard! It was a blast, and going home and passing out early was great too since I didn't wake up with a hangover! lol

Re: Looking for opinions!

I had a day time wedding! my reception was 12-5, and our venue was on the water so there was no closing of the drapery to set the mood. It was sunny and bright and everyone still got drunk and partied their butts off like it was 10pm. I think the bride and groom set the mood, and we were out to party so our guest followed suit!

I think it really depends on the atmosphere you set for your wedding. I'm personally not a fan of late evening weddings because I do not enjoy eating my meal at 10-11PM. We opted for a late afternoon/early evening wedding. I felt this way we get the best of both. Sunlight for pictures and during the ceremony and then since it's fall by the time the reception starts you get the night time feel because it gets dark so early.

I'm personally not a fan of day weddings. It wouldn't deter me from attending one but I also would not book one for myself.

I'm having a daytime wedding, and I actually wanted it that way. I don't think it matters what time of day, if you have fun people attending your wedding, you'll have a great time no matter what. My friends and family love to dance and drink and eat. I don't think the time of day will stop them from doing so. Plus, we're going to have the whole day to spend with our loved ones. Just because the wedding ends doesn't mean the party will!

It's up to each person, but I think if you have friends/family that won't have fun because of the time of day the wedding is, you are inviting the wrong people.

I am having a day wedding but have been to several and will say it all depends on the people and the DJ/Music. If the DJ/Music is good the people will dance. lighting also helps. I know dancing and partying won't be an issue due to my guests and my DJ
