Looking for photographer and videographer

Thanks for all the recommendations ladies. FI and I are most likely going to start with ADA since they are recommended by East Wind. I know I need to shop around alittle to atleast be able to make comparisions. Anyone have pricing info on Imagine or Mark Kauffman? I really love the photojournalism and so does FI. Thanks

Re: Looking for photographer and videographer

This was my approach:

1. Scour the web for ideas and information.
2. Look at the extremes - what do you get for $500 what do you get for $10,000?
3. Meet with some studios, meet with those who freelance.
4. Start making lists of what you like and what you don't like and figure out why.
5. Make sure you review albums of single events, not a compilation of a photographers 'best works' as then you start to see the 'good' to overall shots taken ratio.
6. Prioritize what is important to you and find a vendor who fits most of your requirements.

My most important items were:

1. Unobtrusive, photojournalistic style
2. Ownership of negatives and proofs
3. Ability to create own album

your budget is the best way to narrow them down. HOw much is it, ballpark? Is there one think you would spend more on than the other?

Re: Looking for photographer and videographer

I have to give my two cents and say Duet

Duet

I have found the honesty and flexibility that they have very refreshing after visiting other reception halls, photographers, and videographers and seeing and experiencing the SELL SELL attitude. I have been in retail and know a sales pitch with nothing more than getting our money.

Feel free to go to the Duet thread and contact anyone on there, including myself either FM or Posting.

Best wishes,

Thomas

My sister used cassarino. They were very good with the traditional and romantic shots which was what she wanted. For the family pictures, our photographer, Nick, was amazing. he made everyone laugh and have a great time and feel at ease. During the ceremony and reception, he was totally unobtrusive. I think they do photojournalism too, but my sis didn't want that. She also used them for the video, which we haven't gotten yet cause my sis is slow with getting the pics to them that she wants in the video.

Another vote for Twelfth Night Photo and Wild Rose Video. Both very reasonable and extremely talented.

I don't agree with Wild Rose being resonable. They are on the higher end of the price compared to most vendors that are respectable (and on this board). Wild Rose is quality and truly worth every penny! Just keep in mind, they are higher
