Original post by July1505bride

There are so many photographers and videographers I am feeling alittle overwhelmed and don't know how I should start narrowing my search. We def have a budget we would like to stick with. Any advice or recommendations? Thanks

Re: Looking for photographer and videographer

Hello everyone! OK first I want to say thank you for all the helpful advice and FM's. So FI and I are figuring an estimated budget of about $6,000 for photographer and videographer. Is this a reasonable budget? I would LOVE to come in under that but that is what we are shooting for. Anyone have further recommendtions for photographers and videogrpahers within that price range? Thanks again!

That budget is plenty...
i reccomend Patken for both Photo/Vedio. I havn't seen there vedio or using them but i've heard good things about it. All there pricing is customed to what you want. Go and speak to Doug. He is great and located in linderhurst

If you are looking to save a buck or 2, Duet is the best service for the price (4000). Bother services are filled with quailty. You get 2 photo (1 color, 1 bw) and vedio for whole day.

I am using Bellarino for videography and Marcy Studio (a vendor here) for photography.

I know nothing about video as we elected not to hire a professional. We will either have a camcorder on a tripod somewhere for the ceremony and/or have a friend who owns professional equipment take some footage.

I selected Tom Weis for photos...

I find this process a bit difficult because there are sooo many vendors that do great work. Its been taking me two months and I haven't decided yet. Your budget is more than reasonable it's on the higher end - compared to my own budget so you shouldn't have such a difficult time. I've seen many many photo/video vendors and these are the ones that I thought had the best work or who really were very nice to deal with. Artisan, Sherwood triart, DUET, DeJa Vu.

We used Leli Photography in St. James for pics and video. We're very happy with both. Gary, the owner, offers different packages and prices. We got 1200 proofs, and are having a hard time narrowing it down for our album. His site is www.leliphotography.com

Good luck,
Donna
