Looking young...

Re: Looking young...

I used to get it all the time. People will still tell me that I don't look 32, but not like before when they thought I was waayy younger. And it makes me so sad. It totally brightens my day if I get ID'd - which does occassionally happen - but I think it's just when I'm at a grocery store buying beer and I think the cashier needs to enter a birthdate for the sale to go through. I try and convince myself it's because of how wonderfully I'm aging, but I don't really belive me anymore.

I am 26 and recently had someone ask my mom if she was OK with me getting married at such a young age. She said 26 is not too young to get married. The lady turned around and said oh, I thought she was about 18 or 19... I hope it stays like this when I get older..

always mistakes When teaching in the middle school I was sometimes asked for a pass. When I go to buy lotto or beer I get carded. I'm 28, some say I look like Im 20.

When I had my son Gabe I was 24. People always mentioned how I had him when I was SOOO young. They thought I was around 18

people always think i am younger than I am.. I am 31.. its so funny I was getting a checkup at the drs office and the nurse asked me my age. I tol dher 31 and she dids a doubletake but didnt say anything. After a few minutes shes says to me, Do you get asked about your age a lot?

You have to see on Back to School Night- the parents walk by and do a doubletake to make sure I am the teacher. I wear my glasses to make myself look older...

I take it as a compliment though especially sinc EI will be 32 in 2 weeks!

Ohhh, I have a good one. I work right across the street from a high school. I carry a backpack. Do you know how many times I get stopped by the truancy officers when I am out to lunch?

i'll be pretty sad when it stops though.

Re: Looking young...

It's weird when I was growing up I always looked older. When I was 14 people thought I was 18. Now it's reversed and I love it!!! I went to the Pixies concert at Jones Beach a few months back, and I was outside smoking a cig, some kid who looked like 15 asked me for a cig ( I knew he was older) I gave him one and he say's 'wow there are so many young kids here' and I said 'yeah you're one of them!' he replied 'No I'm 23' I said ' Like I said you're a kid' he asked how old I was I said 31 he almost fell over he was going on and on about how he thought I was his age. It was great. And last week I got id'd 2 times in one day for ciggs, and wine. It was great!! Most people think I'm at least 5 years younger. I love it!!!!

One of my students' mother's last year thought I was in the MIDDLE SCHOOL Jazz Band!!!!!!!!!!

My poor student, he was so embarrassed, he said, MOOO-OOOOM, that's my TEAcher!!!

The year before that, was my first year in my current school, and one of the teachers I had never met before tried to kick me out of the PSATs! I was supposed to be proctoring and he yelled at me to get out of the room and back to the hallway!

I just turned 29. I hope this lasts!

Re: Looking young...

All the time! I am going to be 28 next month. No one believes it! I am constantly being mistaken for 18. It has been like that for a while. I remember when I met FH's parent's for the first time they took him aside and asked if our relationship was 'legal'! The females in my family age very gracefully. The funny thing is that when I was young...like 12, I was mistaken for older...HA!

Funny thing is FH is 32 and he still gets carded...although I think he looks over 21, but not 32!

We sure don't act our age, that's for sure

Re: Looking young...

I'm 26 and constantly get told how young I look. In fact, someone in my office told me today that I look too young to be getting married. When we picked out our menu, the banquet manager said she couldn't believe we're getting married b/c I looked 16 and my FI looked 19 (he's almost 29). At a cousin's bat mitzvah earlier this year, they served my 22 year old brother and 17 year old cousin drinks and then questioned me about my age and asked for ID. It's so annoying when people say I'll appreciate this when I'm older.

Oh definitely....no one believes that I am 29 - especially with no make up on and my hair thrown back in a pony tail.It used to annoy me, now I will be sad when it doesn't happen
