We love Cabo san Lucas... we have stayed at the Solmar and we now have a timeshare at the Playa Grande. There are plenty of other resorts in town but we noticed their beaches were not that clean and there are always peddlers around. We loved where we were because we could sit out on the beach each night, it was so secluded and there was guards posted at all the entrances so we felt safe at all times.
Both are located out of town on a private beach with no peddlers. Its about a 5 - 10 minute walk into the town... so peaceful!! Unfortunately you can't swim on that side of the beach though because of the currents (your right on the ocean) but the sound of the waves crashing at night... wow. There are so many other beaches and water sports in the bay area it doesn't really matter. As for what to do... ATVing, sailing, sunset cruises, beer cruises, fishing, horseback riding..... there are so many things to do. My DH loved the ATVing on the beaches... no matter where you go its just beautiful.
We ate at several different places.... everything is basically geared to the party crowd so there is always something to do. There are a few dressy restaurants. Cabo Wabo was interesting and the pizza's ok. If you want to eat in their restaurant a reservation is needed.
We took a day and went to the old town of Cabo (if I remeber its called San Juan) Its ok, some shops but nothing to go crazy over.
Definitely take a boat ride to the arch, there is a beach that you can sunbath at over there.
You are going to have a blast, we got engaged there!! We stayed at Melia, Cabo Del Sol! It is so gorgeous and there is lots to do from boating, golfing, shopping, etc....

I think we are going there! I am looking into packages now! Maybe staying at the Melia!
