Edited for spelling...

Re: Losing inches but not lbs....

our weight is a formula

calories burned + calories eaten=0 you maintain ur weight

calories burned + calories eaten= negative number u lose weight

calories burned + calories eaten= positive number u gain weight

so you can focus on...
calories burned and increase your workouts.....
or on calories eaten and diet...
or both and get the best results!!!!!!

cardio is a must, but light weight training will build more lean muscle which increases calories burned...
drink half your weight in water ounces....
no sugar, soda, or alcohol...
eat lean meat/chix/fish, with lots of veggies(not potatoes or carrots) complex carbs in small amounts and you will lose weight....
ps eating late at night is not the enemy, its what we eat late at night

Re: Losing inches but not lbs....

OMG - i am SOOO afraid that I've gained weight since ordering my dress. Immediately after trying it on and buying it, I came to Colorado where my FH lives and have been here all summer long WITHOUT a scale! Ahhh! And we've been dining out almost every night. ugh. So as soon as I get home, I'm on a major diet crash too.

I'm not TOO worried though, cause i know what works for me. Last summer I lost nearly 20 pounds in a single month, and that was because I was power walking at least 30 min each morning and eating absolutely NO starches, only protein. And lotsa, lotsa water. I wouldn't suggest being on that kinda diet for too long though, because then the minute you eat starches again, ya kinda gain VERY easy. How I did it was I'd allow myself a HEALTHY starch once every week, just so my body wouldn't get used to not having it. I'm gonna try to get back on THAT next week.

Good luck!

It's much harder to lose lbs than inches if you are working out. In general though, its much harder to lose inches than lbs, so be proud of your success.

The whole less weight more reps thing is NOT for weight loss. The less weight you are moving the less calories you are burning. You're stunting your weight loss by lowering your weights. I've trained lots of people that have lost 20lbs or more, keep working, the numbers will drop eventually, but the inches really are more important.

So should I up my weight again, and do less reps?

Whoa. Good for you! What do you consider a 'healthy starch?'

For me a 'healthy starch' is something like a slice of Ezekiel Bread (or some kind of organic/grain bread). If not that, then I'll maybe have some Melba Toast with PB or somethin' on it. Just to keep my body from getting too used to not having starches.

But basically I just have protein (mostly Chicken), non-fat yogurt, and a Luna Bar for a snack. I definitely don't starve myself - and it REALLY helps me drop the weight. I'll usually lose anywhere between 3-5 pounds a week like that. (ya can't do that forever tho, your body will usually hit a plateau). I've only done it a month or two at a time.

This is gonna be gross...

but do a colon cleansing at one of those health spas you can loose up to 15 pounds in poop and water. Weight doesn't mean very much. Its all about muscle to fat ratio.

Thanks. I may give this a try with 30 some odd days left. Would you mind FMing me a sample 'diet' of what you eat?

You shouldn't concentrate on what the scale says, actually don't even look at it. if you are losing inches and your clothes are fitting better, isn't that all that matters? You are doing something right if you are losing inches, so great job!!! Don't worry about what the scale says, muscle weighs more than fat but is leaner so keep doing what you are doing!!!
