Last night I was showing FH some prictures of wedding gowns to get an idea of what style he likes. I've always liked off the shoulder, sweetheart neckline styles and pictured my dress like that.
So, I showed him a photo of a dress with the neckline that I like and his reaction was 'No way. That dress looks stupid. No one wears dresses like that anymore.'
So, all last night I kept having nightmares of me walking down the aisle and him making faces at my dress.

I know this probably sounds so silly. I'm sure he's going to think I look beautiful no matter what - even if i walked down the aisle in my pj's and slippers.... But I just can't stop stressing myself over this. UGH!

i dont think he was being insensitive bc he has no idea that is the type of dress she wants. She showed him a bunch of dresses so he had no clue. If he did have a clue im sure he wouldn't have reacted that way

He really wasn't being insensitive. I asked him for his honest opinion on the dresses. I showed him a few different styles without telling him which I liked best.

You know what? I wouldn't even give any of this a second thought until after you've tried dresses on and narrowed it down. What I thought I'd love (halters) I HATED on me and what I swore I'd never get (strapless) I loved. Don't worry until you have to!

aww dont worry..i am sure he wont even remember saying that or remembering he thought that when you walk down the aisle that day..you are going to look beautiful no matter what!

The same exact thing happened with my FH, I was showing him pics of dresses I liked( which were similar to the style youre into) mixed together with other styles, and he dissed the style I liked...but what I realized his, men have trouble making choices like that especially if they're seeing the dress on other women...they don't know how the same dress will look on you...so in the end, you have to get what looks best on you and trust that he'll like that..that's what I did..

Awwwe, I know its hard but don't let this stress you!! I bet you if you took a moment and kinda casually told him that that comment was bothering you, he would clear it up and comfort you in a second!!

honestly, i wouldnt worry about it. it totally depends on the gown. that style can look outdated, but so can everything else that isnt strapless. It just depends on the rest of the gown. you know?
don't lose sleep over it. You'll look amazing, and he'll be too busy thinking about taking the gown off to worry about it

Don't listen to him--I tried on a dress (non-wedding) for my DH and he said he hated it. A couple of months later I had nothing to wear to dinner so I pulled out the dress that he said he hated and he was all up on me. I said 'I thought you hated this dress?' He didn't even remember. Maybe my DH is crazy, but I agree with the posters that said guys don't really know what their talking about when it comes to dresses. YOu should try some on in that style,but try some on in other styles too, you may be surprised.

OMG i understand what you're going through. Don't worry about what FH says, it's what looks good ON YOU!!! This actually happens for everything I buy....
Butttttt I'll be honest, i got my dress approved by FH before I bought it b/c I was scared he would not like it and I would be miserable on my wedding day!!!!
