Losing sleep over this.....

Last night I was showing FH some prictures of wedding gowns to get an idea of what style he likes. I've always liked off the shoulder, sweetheart neckline styles and pictured my dress like that.

So, I showed him a photo of a dress with the neckline that I like and his reaction was 'No way. That dress looks stupid. No one wears dresses like that anymore.'

So, all last night I kept having nightmares of me walking down the aisle and him making faces at my dress.

Here are some photos of the neckline I'm talking about....

I know this probably sounds so silly. I'm sure he's going to think I look beautiful no matter what - even if i walked down the aisle in my pj's and slippers.... But I just can't stop stressing myself over this. UGH!

awww i wouldnt worry, he will think u look beautiful no matter what dress u have one...and he hasnt seen that type of dress on you...im sure he would think differently if he saw it on u

as long as you feel as beautiful as you should on your wedding day is all that matters..and I think we have all learned that most dresses do not look the same on us as they do in pics on line!!

I really like that neckline! No offense to your FH, but he is a guy and thus doesn’t know what he’s talking about half the time, lol. His comment may have come out of a genuine concern though; like, he thought that people don’t wear that anymore and he’s trying to help you out? If that’s what your heart is set on, let him know that its not old fashioned or out of style or anything. And you’re totally right that he’s going to be blown away by you, regardless of the neckline!

FH has said comments about gowns that he doesnt like this or that,, and at first it bothered me,, then I realized he will love it ALL once he see's me for the first time, because it will suit ME and he loves me, not a DRESS

well you didn't buy your dress yet right? first i would say that you should try this style on to see how it looks on you, so many of us dream of dresses we would love to wear and then when we try it on we go for the opposite...i thought i wouldn't wear a strapless.

But yes regardless he will see you that day and LOVE the way you look

MY fh isn't even crazy about dresses with some poof, he likes mermaid and slim fitting dresses, until i showed him more modern a-line dresses

1st, it's beautiful and 2nd, guys do not typicaaly know as much about what brides are wearing, necklines, etc...I say choose what you love and he will think you look beautiful

awww no dont be nervous you should be excited...hey youre trying on dresses thats it, you love something you get it, you don't you keep looking and after that you'll get a better idea of what you want and what flatters you best. Have fun with it

awww dont worry no matter what you wear im sure you will look beautiful plus we all know men have no fashion sense FH wanted to wear shorts and a tshirt with black sneakers for our epic

While looking at dresses in mags.. i would ask FH and my mom about certain dresses and they both disagreed with my pics( i love the big ball gown or ruffled bottom.. mom didn't like either..she likes more A line styles).. but ya know what.. my mom came with me the other day to try on a few dresses and when it was on me she really liked it.. and all of them were big poofy ball gown dresses, and some of them even had those ruffles she hates.. and she totally cahnged her mind. it's hard sometimes to picture a dress in a mag. It's always different on the models than on you. I'm sure he is going to think it's beautiful once YOU are the one wearing it!!!!!

I wouldn't stress yourself out about this yet. Go try on dresses, see what you love the best on you. You may end up hating those sleeves in person. And if you do love them, then you will glow, making him think you are beautiufl no matter what the dress looks like.

You'll be beautiful in whatever you wear and you should get a dress that YOU love, b/c if you're happy, you'll look even more beautiful. Like guys know about necklines!

LOL I did the same exact thing! And FH said the same exact thing back to me. I was upset about it until I realized he had no clue about wedding dresses so why am I even asking him! Don't worry. Whatever you feel beautiful in, he will love.

I did something similar with fh. I think that once he sees it on, he will see how beautiful it looks. A lot of dresses I tried on, I would have never imagined myself in, but once it's on, it looks completely different

Honestly, he probably just didn't like the way it looked in those pictures. So he based his opinon on how it looks on that girl. Not on you. Different styles look totally different on people. Honestly- just dont ask him anymore- why worry about it more!!

Once you try it on, you will know which is the perfect dress for you. FH will think you are the most beautiful woman in the world no matter what you wear so pick what you like lol

I think that neck line is very flatering and that you are the one who is going to be wearing it so what matters is that your happy with the dress and the way it looks. The way he reacted was very insensetive..
