Re: losing weight
I have no advice, as I was going to SERIOUSLY start today, and I just ate sausage for lunch.
I have been engaged for 5 months. I lost 35 lbs in the first 2. I have gone up and down 10 lbs since then. I have less than 6 months until the wedding. I have a pic of a fat bride on my fridge. Nothing works.
It's okay, I guess. White is extremely flattering.

i had went on a VERy strict routine. I knew i had to bc it wasnt just a few extra pounds i had to lose. What s*cked was that i even had to wait to lose the weight. I was always thin or average size my whole life. In 2000-2001 i went on this bc shot that lasts 3 months. When i took the shot, i was actually working out and eating healthy and within a week my clothes werent fitting me anymore. Of course now the shot isnt even used for bc anymore, there were too many problems and not just with weight gain bc many other girls gained ALOT of weight but other issues too. So i had to wait for a bit to lose weight bc no matter what i did i wouldnt lose the weight.
I started doing pilates which was amazing, this helped alot. I was doing it about 5-6x a week. I also incorporated some other workouts such as kickboxing and doing weight training. And i would workout about 1-2 hours a day. Theres times i even worked out early in the day and then again at night. Other days i would just make sure to do more than an hour if i did it once a day
i changed what i ate completely. I ate VERy healthy and would indulge only once a week, the rest of the time i stuck to it well. Even going out to restaurants with friends they would ask how i didnt get tempted. And after a short period of time, even the days you indulge, you cant go as far as you used to. At first i was eating such fatty foods on my 1 day and ALOT of it, but after a while your body gets used to healthy and smaller portions and even if you try you cant eat the same way.
I did very well at maintaining my weight its been 4 years or so. Problem is ive gained weight now since the HM. After all these years of ALWAYS watching what i eat and working out, i said i wanted a little bit of a break. Well i had my break and ive gained weight again so have to go back to doing this it was nice though to eat whatever i wanted for a while
i hate to say this but its almost like it has to become a bit of an obsession, a healthy one though not overboard. Before i was always like Ok i have to eat healthy so ill try. Once i became fed up with my weight and couldnt take it anymore i got into hardcore and thats when i was able to do it. I would always think, ok when i can find extra time to work out, what workouts are better, what can i try that was new, working out was always on my mind. Eating, i always focused on making sure i have to stay healthy and became an obsession to make sure i do. Again not an overboard obsession but yes at supermarkets i never bought anything bad and didnt keep bad food in the house. At restaurants i would focus JUST on healthy options and not even bother looking at other things. Unless you commit FULLY to it and make it a lifestyle change you wont get the full results, at least for me its that way.

Re: losing weight
You need to really want it. I am going to the gym every night now until the wedding. Now I only have 2 months until the big day, and I am going every night now. I am so upset that I procrasatinated lol
Just find something to start with, start small don't just jump into it at first b/c then you will be disappointed.
Start by cutting down your calories and trying to limit the carbs. Switch to drinking alot of water. Start out working out 30 minutes 3 times a week. Then up it to 45 minutes, or maybe up it to 30 4 times a week you know? start small, this way when you do start losing weight, it will come off and STAY off. :) Good Luck!

If you look in my album you can see my before and after pics...I even weigh less now then I do in my 'after' picture. I went from a size 16 to a size 4 and did it all by weight watchers.

Re: losing weight
You should look into Weight Watchers. I lost 30lbs on it. It works great as long as you stick to the plan.

Re: losing weight
I lost 60 lbs on Weight Watchers. You have to be committed to it though. I went off of it at one point and I did gain 25 pounds back. I could kick myself for that because now I'm struggling to lose that 25 pounds again.

Re: losing weight
I can't do WW because I get so obsessive about all of the point counting and spend my whole day counting and recounting and i get so caught up in it that it's unhealthy.
My goal is to lose 55 pounds by next October. My approach is to go to the gym (cardio + weights) for at least 1 hour a day as well as a really robust, but healthy eating plan.
I've dieted the wrong way so many times -- starving myself, cutting out all fats/carbs, etc. -- that now I am committed to doing it the right way. I want this to be a life change and I'm worried that if I lose weight too quickly I'll never learn how to keep it off, nor will I be able to maintain that intensity for the next 12 months.
This is something I've struggled with my whole life. I lost a ton of weight for my friend's wedding, gained it all back (and then some!), lost for my sister's wedding, gained it all (and then some more), and I just have reached my limit.
I'm keeping my eating healthy by trying a lot of different healthy recipes and making sure that I'm not eating the same dry thing everyday.
I'm staying motivated by telling myself that my wedding day is the ONE day I want to look at myself in the mirror and think I look good!

Re: losing weight
I was on weight watchers for several months and dropped 30lbs. As soon as I stopped watching what I eat I gained that back and more. I am at my heaviest, and I was so committed on loosing the weight before the wedding, but with the stress and finding out I have a thyroid problem I didn't lose anything. I do need to go back to being hardcore on the diet and incorporating pilates into my routine. I can't stand the extra weight because not only are my clothes not fitting right, but I just feel the heaviness.

WW has 2 plans now- the points and one where you do not count. I cant count points.....who has that kind of time. Look into the core plan.....I dropped my weight in 3 months and have kept it off for 1 year so far....

Re: losing weight
I lost about 25 pounds before meeting FH and now I fluctuate between the last 5-7 pounds depending on how good my eating and gym commitment is.
I basically did it by picking a few things that I knew met my calorie goals and I eat basically the same things every day. At first, I was also doing the elliptical for an hour at least 4 days a week (sometimes up to 6!) and since the weight was just falling off, it really motivated me. Luckily I don't really get bored so I don't have to think and plan my food.
I tried WW points for awhile but they were only giving me like 19 points and that's not really enough food for me. I'm also a grazer - I eat small snacks about once an hour (cereal w/o milk, then a banana, then some sliced chicken breast, an apple, a granola bar). I'm ashamed to say that my eating goes to all hell on the weekends and I KNOW if I eat out more than once a week, I put on 5 pounds almost instantly. October 18 is T-6 months for me and then it's STRICT STRICT STRICT!
