My musings on LOST last night:
Seemed a little disjointed to me compared to other episodes.
Hurley owned a box company - didn't Locke work for a box company?
Is Hurley impervious to harm? Everyone around him gets hurt, and he seemed a little too confident that he could get across the world's most rickety bridge and under the Indiana Jones Pointed Swinging Rock Booby Trap.
Is there no other place on the island that Sawyer can read a book in peace? For crying out loud!!
Is the cradle that Locke built the same one that was in Claire's nightmares?? It looked the same to me. He's starting to creep me out big time. I know it was sweet, but something about him just seems EEEVIL!
And does Hurley really owe Walt all that money from Backgammon?? He's good for it!

Oh that's right! the box coompany stuck in my head & I didn't know why. Locke worked at one. . .interesting.
Someone here said last week, that maybe everyone is connected--it could be. . .
the numbers have something to do with that mystery box they found & abandoned a few weeks ago.
Sawyer was supposed to be guarding the boat. . . that's why he was reading right there.
I actually thought this episode sort of finally tied some things together & was not disjointed from the others.

Yes I believe all of the things above are connected. Last night was a really good episode, a really wierd one but a good one...
The numbers are strange, but if you caught the end you would see the numbers were on the side of the door that Locke found in the ground....
Is next week a repeat or did Ethan rise from the dead?

Maybe disjointed is not the right word. It just felt jumpy - like the segue from one scene to the next was off. I can't explain it.
I forgot about the boat - that explains Sawyer.
I also forgot the most important question - why oh why does Shannon get my man!?!?!

It's a repeat - it's not on again until April 13th or something.
I saw the numbers at the end - I'm very curious about them now!!

It was the Hurley flashback. I began with Michael asking about a battery or something to help send a signal to a passing boat once they get their raft out to sea. They remembered that the French lady had one so they went to Sayid to see if he could take them back there.
They were looking at the documents he stole and Hurley saw a series of numbers and went a little looney. We see him flash back to living at home with his mom and eating Chicken out of a bucket (looks like he worked at a chicken place) and the lotto numbers come up and he has them all. They are the same numbers as on the documents.
You see him on the news (like you saw on the TV in Jin's flashback last week) and he's talking about finally giving his grandpa a retirement and the grandpa dies of a heart attack right there. Soon we find out that all these bad things are happening to everyone around him.
People keep asking him about where he got the numbers, and he keeps saying he just came up with them. As he's sitting with his accountant (talking about all the money his money is bringing in) he realizes that the numbers may be cursed and goes to the source. Apparently he spent some time in the looney bin and there is a guy that just keeps repeating the numbers. When Hurley tells him he used the numbers for the lotto, the guy FREAKS!! and tells him that the man who gave them to him lived in Australia and that Hurley has opened 'the box'.
Hurley goes to Australia, to find the man, and instead finds his legless widow and she tells him that her husband couldn't escape the numbers so he killed himself.
We assume that the next step is Hurley getting on the plane to go home, but the plane crashes - which he blames himself for.
Meanwhile on the Island, he goes looking for the French women who tells him that the numbers were what brought her and her crew to the island 16 years ago. They found the transmission of them coming from the radio tower on the black rock and she changed them.
Then we see that they are carved on the side of the hatch that Locke and Boone had been digging up.
The main side story this week was that Locke asked Claire to help him build something (despite the fact that she's about to pop) and it turned out to be a crib for the baby.

You'll have to get past me to get to Sayid!

Lately, they seem to be connecting each character somehow. I don't know if any of you noticed, but when they did the Asian couple's story, they showed Hurley on a TV in the background, and Jack's father met Sawyer in a bar in Australia. And now maybe Hurley and Locke with the box company....
What else am I leaving out?

Okay, I can let you have Sayid - you do have him as your avatar. If that's not love I don't know what is!!
But I'll be here for him in case you break his heart!!

When the lifeguard guy (sorry, don't remember name) was at a police station trying to get help for his 'sister', Sawyer was brought in by the police in the background.
