I found out at 4pm. I was upset but Iwanted to leave there for a while. I got a decent package and although I will be looking for a new job I think I'll take NOV & Dec off

What a bummer, Stacey, but I agree it may well be a blessing in disguise. When one door closes another opens up and this could be a fantastic opportunity for you to do what you REALLY want to do. And, the economy is starting to pick up! So, I would say 'I'm Sorry' but I choose instead to say 'Congrats on getting your life back and getting the chance to take some much needed 'YOU-TIME' and figure out what's next!' Good luck!!

It's good to know that you were offered a decent package-I have unemployed friends who were offered nothing more than a handshake and 'good luck'.
Take advantage of the time off to recoup and regroup. As someone said, when one door closes, another opens.

I totally understand- I lost my job in June and took the summer off before getting a temp job in late August. Make sure you collect unemployment. The timing is kind of good- you get to enjoy the holidays and then start looking just when everyone is ready to start hiring again. Good luck!

getting laid off was the best thing for DH...he wanted to quit...but if he did he would lose his options...so we were stuck in NY...
when he got laid off he had a nice severence...collected his unemployment and we moved out of NY!! to sunny SD where he found a job!!!

I know how you feel, I was sort of pushed into resigning from my job...once they found out I was moving to CT, they took all my clients from my comission based job. So I resigned and now I am also unemployed too. And I have no idea what I want to do next. I am taking some much needed me time to figure out my next steps.
I think sometimes this is meant to be, especially when the job is not for you. I found my last job to be so draining and horrible mentally, emotionally, spritually, that is is really for the best that I am no longer there. I am trying to force myself to enjoy this time instead of stress out about finding another job. Good luck to you!
