Lots of Qs about All Clad pots and pans...

Lots of Qs about All Clad pots and pans...

So we decided that we probably SHOULD replace our semi-warped and beat up non-stick Cuisinart set with higher end cookware while we have the chance. I've done some research and it seems like All Clad stainless is probably the way to go.

However, there are a bunch of different kinds.

'copper core'
'master chef 2'
'stainless steel'
'LTD'

What is worth the money? How did you decide which to go with? I know these pots/pans will last a lifetime so I want to pick the right ones. there are too many options!

Also, is it better to register for a big set, a small set + some individuals or everything individually? some of the sets are so it might be better to do it individually, but it seems like you get a better deal by getting a set.

Finally... is it better to register for them at BBB or Macys? Macys seems to have a lot of sales and promotions but BBB has the 20% off and I think people prefer to shop at BBB.

Anyone?

they are not 20% off at BBB, i am 99.9% sure they are excluded in the fine print

I bought these pots, i bought a 13 piece set.

FMIL's neighbor gave us a fortunoff friends and family discount for a weekend to use there, and low and behold i called up and it was not excluded...only exclusion was swiss watches.

So we were able to save the 20%

We bought the set and we bought individual pieces as well. I think they work amazing, we got the stainless steel ones, coppercore are sooo heavy, i mean the stainless ones are heavy too, but not as heavy.
and better priced

Hmmm... that's good to know. However, Lenox is also excluded and they let my grandma use it on our China anyway.

I don't know how much they (cashiers) pay attention to the fine print. I bought a tempurpedic pillow the other day and they gave me the 20%. The cashier told me he doesn't pay attention to what it says on the bottom.

Thank you, that set looks great. How did you decide between stainless and masterchef 2? do you know how they differ?

I honestly just compared them, and i wanted the shiny on the outside, the master chef is brushed.
My FMIL got this stuff called bar keepers friend and it shines up the pots like brand new.
Also it says handwashing reccomended for the master chef, and the stainless pots you can put in the dishwasher

Thank you again, I think we might end up registering for the same ones. Do you plan to handwash them? I think we'd prob handwash even if they are technically dishwasher safe (we handwash our current set)

i prefer the stainless steel because you can put it in the diswasher.
