I've tried on so many dresses that it's not even cool anymore... Anyway, yesterday I tried on this dress and I love it. Now the lady is shady bc she knew my budget and this dress was clearly over it!!! It's James Clifford- which is Jim Helm- and he doesn't sell his JC Collection anywhere. Figures I'd like a dress thats so annoying you can only get it at certain stores...
But besides it being over budget, it's the only dress I put on and loved. It was NOT at all the style I was going for and if you've ever seen my 'Possible dresses' album then you know what I mean. The other issue is my FH only had one little request, (and he's been involved and planned most of the wedding and did research on here) so his request was that he loved a strapless sweetheart neckline on me...
PLEASE take a look at this gorgeous dress and let me know if you think this is worth trying to convince him he'll love it and that its worth the over budget amount OR since I have time, should I just keep looking? It is A LOT more than what I wanted to pay for a dress... Which annoys me.

I am in loveeeee with the lace in the back and the fit. Try calling other states - it might be cheaper cant hurt to try. Also EBAY starting april 18 i think is letting you list items for free and then only pay if they sell. Maybe you have some items to sell .. i loveeee selling crap im getting ready to put in the donation box and getting a few extra dollars a month, so i can buy more clothes lol

Aw, I love the dress on you! Maybe you can call elsewhere or find a decent knock off somewhere? That is the worst to find something you love and have it be out of reach Keep us updated on what you decide!!!!

That dress looks absolutely amazing on you!!!!!!! It's such a beautiful dress. I would say to start calling and shopping around for prices for that dress. You might find it cheaper somewhere else. Good Luck.

When you say it is over budget how much do you mean?
I would continue to look and see if there is anything else that you like. You have plenty of time.
I hate salespeople. When I looked I specifically told the girl that I do not want her to bring anything to me that is more than my budget. For me I knew that I did not want to spend more money than my budget no matter what so I was very clear with her!

The dress is beautiful and looks amazing on you!!!! Personally I would not worry too much about FH's request of the dress b/c this still has the sweetheart style neckline, so one of his requests is still being honored LOL He'll think you look amazing no matter what that day!
If you have the funds and are able to splurge then I say go for it. However, if you need to stick to that budget then I say shop around & see if you can find it for less, or take the photos to other bridal salons and see what they have which is similar in style.

I think you should shop around now that you found a new style you love. Try on a bunch of dresses in that style in your price range and see if any of them make you feel the way that one did.

LOL... you all make me smile! WHAT would I do without you ladies!
The dress after alterations and bussle is about $700 over budget. I can get the money I think. It was just a lot more then I wanted to pay.
But, some of you make great points bc now that I know I love this style and it is very flattering, I can go to a bigger store in the city and see if they have anything comparible thats closer in budget. Time is on my side too.
I do love the way I feel in this dress though!
BTW, It's my Birthday today!
Gotta go back to work now... can't wait to get back on the boards this evening.

The dress is BEAUTIFUL!! like some of the other girls said, maybe shop around a bit more and see if you can find something like it for a better price! If not, I say just go for it!!!
