Luke is in the big boy carseat

Finally.....we switched over to the big car seat. He was just too big for the infant seat and I swear I have carpal tunnel from lifting that carseat and opening all those baby food jars. Sigh! He's getting so big. I need to adapt to getting around again - it was so easy to pop him in the Snap & Go (Preggos: You HAVE TO have a Snap & Go!!!!! Even if you stroller accomodates a carseat-they're sooooooo easy)
He's sitting like royalty in this new carseat though, I got the Britax Marathon and this thing is plush!! I'm making him a t-shirt that says 'Dont treat me any different that you would the king' LOL

edited to add: I used the 20% coupon at BBB and got the $55 off!

Good for you Liz !
Im buying it this weekend.
Ive slacked off on buying it and hes already 26 inches !

I meant to ask you, how does he sit in the high chair? comfy ? JA is still kinda leaning over. I feel like he's not ready for it till he totally sits alone.

Im LMAO at the carpal tunnel from getting into the baby food jars... I think Im developing the same thing!! Are they afraid the babies are going to get into the food. I think the medicine bottles are easier to get into than the food sometimes.

Congrats on being a BIG BOY!!! Emma has the same seat and she always acts like shes livin large.

Anna- He sits really nice in the high chair. We have the Chicco Mamma and it comes with an insert for smaller babies that the straps thread through so he stays really good. I think BRU must sell something like it separately so you can put it in your highchair. How's he doing with sitting otherwise? If he's not sitting up nice and solid yet, no doubt he will soon enough.

Congrats to Luke!!! I'm sure he's happier facing the world, then the back seat!!!!

Oh no Liz!!! I already have carpal tunnel, even had surgery on my right hand! It's coming back with a vengeance now that I'm pg, does this mean it's only going to get worse????!!!!!

Debbie-
I wish he was facing forward, I think we'd both be happier but it is suggested that it is safest to keep them rear facing till 20 lbs and/or 1 year old (preferably staying rear facing till after 1st bday) so he's still looking at that backseat.

Claud - Is Paul still rear facing?

Oh I thought the next size up was forward-facing! I know with my nephew he went from back to forward, guess things have changed in 4 years!!! See, you learn something new everyday!

He'll be facing forward in no time!!!

Debbie- I also wanted to add that carpal tunnel is also associated with pregnancy, I'm sorry it's coming back for you after having had surgery. Do you have a wrist brace that you can wear?

Re: Luke is in the big boy carseat

Thanks Liz!! I know from some of my friends that they got carpal tunnel while pregnant, but I thought since I had the surgery on my right hand, it wouldn't come back -- WRONG! I kind of thought that maybe it would just happen in my left hand, since I didn't have that hand operated on, but it's back in BOTH!!! When I was pregnant before, even though it was only for 9 weeks, my carpal tunnel came back and was really bothering me. This time it's not every night, but frequent enough to wake me up with my hands totally numb again. But stupid me, when I finally got my bedroom furniture moved in (6 months after being married), in my throwing everything out frenzy, I threw out my splints figuring 'I don't need these again'!!!!! I could kick myself because one of them was a really good one and expensive!! Oh well, time to go to the supply store and get new ones!!!!

I'm a bit upset it's back in my right hand because the surgery was only 3 years ago! Goes to show you, there are no guarantees!!!!

Our babies are getting so BIG!

I'm glad you posted about the Britax car seat, becauser I''ve been eyeing it up. I'm also really into the Chico Mamma high chair. Do you like it? I hear it's GREAT!

Re: Luke is in the big boy carseat

Liz - yes, Paul is still rear-facing, but I JUST SAID to Jeff the other day - soon, we'll have to turn him around. Then that sparked a debate on whether the law is 20 pounds AND one year old, or 25 pounds AND one year old. I've got to do some research! I'll let you know!

FYI - for anyone who is wondering - you have to keep them rear-facing until after the 1st birthday AND weighing 20 pounds b/c their neck muscles are still not strong enough to support the head and spine, if god forbid a car accident jostled them around. If the child is forward-facing too early, they neck could be snapped in an accident.
