I looked into this - there is no back yard and barely any side yard. And yes, although I am Malverne born & bred...it is a shame it is Malverne schools.

To come to defense of our schools, the only reason they have a bad rep is because of Lakeview. And I am not even going to go into that. Actually, Malverne Schools are award winning. Just wanted to set the record straight
There is nothing wrong with Lakeview unless you are racist.

Re: Lynbrook - 540k
Hmmm my brothers and sister all went to Malverne -- they got pretty good educations actually but I don't think I would pay the Malverne taxes for the limited resources nowadays. Yes Lakeview and Lynbrook are strains on the school system (Lynbrook also pays less school tax than Malverne), and I would rather most students be contributing equally and not have the onous fall on one part of the district instead of all the district.
I don't consider myself racist, but I wouldn't live in Lakeview. personally.

I agree. DH and all of his friends went to Malverne Schools. And they are all doing very well. I think the High School is the problem. Our taxes are decent for Nassau and we don't mind. I love the town and maybe if they paid the police a little less, taxes would be less. What crime do they really encounter in Malverne?

I am not racist. I am only saying of what I know about Lakeview, and from what I have heard on the News. Lakeview is Suffolk Countys Wyandanch. It is really not a safe area. There is a lot of drugs in that area, and drug houses. When I worked for ford, We had a lot behind the Mercedes dealer and I cannot tell you how many times we found viles, and needles on the street there.
If that house was in District 20 (Lynbrook Schools), the house would be a lot more money. I dont know much of Malverne Elementry Schools, but I do know that the kids would be going to the High School on Ocean Ave which is half lakeview students and half Malverne students.
The town in Malverne is really nice though....Very cute and 50's like.

The block right off Ocean Ave is a block full of half way houses. But DH has his office in Lakeview which they consider Rockville Centre and it is very nice and not inexpensive.
But there are good and bad in every town. I grew up in Sayville and there is a couple of blocks with crack houses and half way houses. It's a shame

I don't agree, not every town has crack houses and half way houses and kids are easily influenced in their teenage years. JMHO.

Most towns unfortunatley do. You just don't know it. And also Homeless Shelters. I work with the Homeless Shelters and half way houses and you cannot even tell they are.

A homeless shelter and a crackhouse are not the same thing. I think I would know if there was a crackhouse in my neighborhood.

I guess I used the term 'crack house' too loosely. Sorry. Many Homeless Scattered Sites do not have the rules and regulations you think they should. And many people refer to Half Way houses as crack houses again because not all are regulated and drugs are done and sold there. So, it really is hard to know if there is one in your town. It is kept such a secret for fear of the residents finding out.

Actually I drive through it everyday.
And was that a question or a comment about my husband's office?
