Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Original post by aliasPook

Well DAWNIE had her wedding on SUnday, and everything went as planned. This is a two part story, so if you want to read the Police Report info, just scroll to the bottom...no hard feelings, I know some of you are at work, I understand...

RH Dinner: Paparazzi

Food was great, service was great, price was great.

Make-up: Jacqueline Nicole

DAWNIE, my mother, and her BM looked so beautiful, that it brought tears to my eyes. The make up was so done to look natural, and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Price was very reasonable also...

Hair: S/B Ciro, but he had a massive heart attack three weeks before the wedding. Elena the Bridal Assistant came on such short notice, and she did a beautiful job.

She did my hair and make up, DAWNIE's hair, and her BM's hair who used and extension. If anyone is considering using one, as long as the color matches, go for it. It looked beautiful, and our hair stayed all day long. I am using her for my wedding.

Transportation: Designer Limos

Ok, let's just put it this way. If it weren't for Ramon, our limo driver, who stuck his had under the hood of my car to disconnect the alarm, we would never had made it to the ceremony. This is part of the whole Police Report. You'll read about it later on. But they deserve an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Our limo bar was stocked up with with liquor, and I believe the only people who were not feeling it by the time we arrived at the reception were three flower girls. The arrived very early and drive past the house on there way to pick up teh guys playing 'HERE COMES THE BRIDE...' on teh horn. Of course at first we freaked out because they were an hour early, but when tehy continued on towards the grooms we felt better.

Reception: FLOWERFIELD

WOW...that's all I can say...If you are getting married there, you are very, very lucky. It was beautiful, the food was delicious, the waitress was by our side every minute refilling our drinks. The place was beautiful, the bridal suite was stocked up with drinks and food and I loved the Bridal Attendant...(I didn't get his name, but he was a doll...)

DJ: Tommy Tunes

At no point during teh evening was teh dance floor empty...

I really can't comment on teh gown, other than it was beautiful. One complaint was that I couldn't get that **** detatchable train to stay on and it began to detatch at the alter. I was grinding my teeth telling DAWNIE, 'DON'T move...' and I kept trying to fix it. Couldn't get that thing off her quick enough.

MENTAL NOTE TO SELF: NO DETACHABLE TRAIN FOR MY WEDDING...

Photography/Video: Imagine

Awwwwweeeeee, these people were so nice!!! The were not pushy at all, creative and they helped me put the film in my own camera (because I couldn't figure it out for myself, and the used my camera to get the pictures that I wanted to be in. How sweet was that? NOw I can have my own copies and not have to wait forever for her proofs. I will let you know how they turn out.

Ok, some stupid b*tch in the Bridal Party walked off with my lap top, my keys, $200 worth of CLinique make up still in boxes (my mother stocked up during the last free gift sale at Century 21), $100 worth of Revlon, Ultima II, Cover Girl and max Factor make up that I bought at Rite Aid for half off, my SHOWGIRLS video and one other video, $40-something in cash, my fathers text pager taht belongs to the FSBNY, and best of all, my wedding checkbook with teh VISA check card and a balance of $16,698.00...
Ok? DON'T TRUST ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSE. EVER!!! i HAVE BEEN CRYING SINCE 8:00 LAST NIGHT, I HAD TO HAVE MY FATHER DRIVE ME TO BAY RIDGE HONDA AND HAVE MY KEYS REMADE FOR MY CAR ($90), WE CHANGED TEH LOCKS ($103)...my Laptop had all my wedding info on it. My guest lists, $200 worth of software, work stuff, pictures, and receipts...

TRUST NO ONE! This was someone that we knew, that we let in to out home. I had the police here today making out the police report and he kept shaking his head in disbelief. I am sick from this whole thing, I call in to work...I bought a half gallon of ice cream after closing my bank account and it's almost gone already. I am so sad over this...These are people that my sister has known here whole life, and I feel dirty and distgusting and po'd that they would have the nerve to do something like this...
Al I am pointing out is that no matter how well you know people, you never REALLY know them...
Sorry for the babbling, I am just freaking out still...

Her parents should be responsible for this!!!!

What kind of parent is okay with their daughter breaking and entering, these parents should be be in jail!!!!

I just can't believe this!!!!

This child needs serious help. Her family is seriously neglecting her. Not that its an excuse for what she did, but I believe her parents share a good deal of the blame.

Im glad you got your stuff back and know who did it.

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Well DAWNIE is back from Hawaii now, she came home on Easter. She was shocked, but happy it was Katie and not a BM.

I went the the PD and picked up the police report.
I was told that yes, I can bring her parents up on charges~Having stolen merchandise and not reporting it and continuing to keep stolen merchandise even after her daughter was caught.

Can someone please tell me what a 191 is????

Dawnie also thought of some new charges for me-

Menacing because she drove me crazy with the alarm.

ALL LAW STUDENTS: Because she robbed me on two seperate days, can I bring her up on charges twice???

MARCELA1564 or ROB-LUVS-ME:

Can either of you come to small claims court with me????
(SO I can understand what the judge is talking about and moral support!)

And as far as my 'Baby Dog'~

Momo looks great, they fed him real food today and he seems to be digesting it. Maxie kind of enjoys being and 'only child' though, which really bothers me. Ya think the dog would miss his little brother!!! Brian and I are going back up there at 6.30.

Yay, Momo is better!

Dogs are simple creatures, not like cats. When my cat Snapple was at the vet overnight Bubba missed him like crazy!

Listen, one of my BMs has a little sister - I think she's 16 - she can take care of Katie for ya, what do you think? j/k

Hmmmm.... Sure you are kidding????

This slob (the mother) just let her dog go poop on their next door neighbors lawn. Then she opens the door and the german shepard runs back in. Such trash these people are. I guess when they weren't bothering us I didn't mind them. The outside of their house looked decent even though they still have their Christmas decorations up... I saw the mother as I was leaving before.

Maxie is a Momma's Boy. As long as he has me, he is happy.

Hey Laurie:
First, I have NO CLUE what 191 is. I thought it was a section of the Family Court Act, which is the law that would be used b/c she is a juvenile. However, I did some research and found that there is no section 191

As for smalls claims court, when are you going? I'm in my last few weeks of school, so I've been really busy. But if I'm free when you go, I will. Let me know. Here is some info on smalls claims court that I'm sure will make you feel more comfortable, just in case neither I or Christine can go with you:

When you go file a case, you don't speak to a Judge. You speak to the Clerk, fill out paper work and pay the fees. The clerk will then tell you when a Judge or Arbitrator will hear the case. Then the court must send the papers to the defendant (Katie's parents). So you don't do anything the first day. Here's a link that explains the Small Claims Court Procedure:
Procedures and this is the link to the court that you would have to go to file the claim: Nassau Court

Also, since Katie is a minor, you can't sue her but her parents(guardians).

Hope this helps

marcela1654 beat me to the punch! I'm pretty sure she is right.

I am also about to go into finals - but if you need anything let me know and I will see if I can help. Filing in small claims is really nothing difficult - I have had friends who have done it before and it is not scary or anything.

Good Luck

I wonder if the 191 is a police code or a criminal code. My brother is a criminal attorney. I will call him later and see if he has any idea.

Thank you so much!!!

I checked in the Family Court Act, NY Penal Law and the NY Criminal Procedure Laws and couldn't find anything on 191. I think it may be a police code.

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Yes, my brother said its definitely not a penal code. It must be a police code.

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Some of you may or may not remember this, but I finally had my depressing day in court yesterday for restitution. I could have settled for $500 in a plea, but I felt better going on the stand. I walked away with only $307 out of the $750 I was asking, but atleast I got to stare down the trash that lives across the street from my mother. The would not accept copies of my receipts for teh car rekeying or the house rekeying, but they accepted my CC Statements showing how much I had bought in Rite Aid. Ridiculous!!!!!! As the Legal Guardian for Katie walked away with a smile on her fat face, I said loud enough for her to hear me, 'I don't know how you can sleep at night...'. It's sad that if these people were to disappear off the face of the earth tonight, I would know the world would be a better place. They cry such poverty, and they have updated cars, electronics and 101 animals living in their nasty house. I do know though that when they die they will go to hell beacuse this is not the first incident with Katie. 1? She stole their car and drove to RVC when she was 13, she tried to kill her parents, she stole from other neighbors and SHE STOLE FROM ME!!!! And she is appealing the $307~the $307 which this trash has to pay me in 12 monthly installments. LMAO That will cover a monthly bag of dog food! Thank goodness for our justice system!

It really is a joke. I have to go on the stand and testify AND be cross examined for a crime committed against me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well every dog gets 'it's' day. (Holding my breath! )

I also just read it. I don't think I was a member when this all happened. But, why did it take more than a year and a half to go to court? And, how have things been for your parents living across the street from her?

Glad you got your day in court! I hope that family gets the help they need - and hope they leave you guys alone! Who knows, maybe they'll move soon!!!

Good luck with everything!!

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

yes our justice system is wonderful, it is one of the reasons why I settled my accident case without going to court, I didnt want to drag it another 2-3 years after year and a half I still havent seen the money which in my opinion is pitiful for what we went through...
I read the whole thread and all I can say is wow, the nerve of some people... and all the stress you went through and they award you only $300, ridiculous
