M&V Limo (long)

Now I have read some negative posts from them in the past and alwasy said that the service I was getting was good BUT that all turned to cr_p this week. I booked back in May for my Nov 2 wedding. At the time I didn't want to go searching for a limo company for weeks and weeks and there were some good posts about M&V so we went there. They had the cars I wanted, a 24 passenger SUV, 10-pass stretch for parents and a brand new replica of a 1920 Madam X. I knew I wanted an antique car and not something you see everyday so when I saw the photos of the Madam X I was really excited. The car was being built and was coming to Smithtow in July.
Mistake #1- I trusted the people at M&V when they said the car would be coming in

Since May I have contacted M&V 3X to confirm my cars, dates, times, payment amount. I am very anal like that. I check and re-check on my vendors. Each time I called my arrangments were confirmed with me, no problems.
Mistake #2- I did not go to the shop after July and see the Madam X for myself. I trusted the people that work for the company when I called

Well on Tuesday at 4:30pm I got a call from one of the sales guys telling me 'there is a slight problem with one of your wedding day cars'. It seems that the Madam X was NEVER delivered and has been delayed for months. My neighbors probably think I am a complete nut case because some of the words I used I don't even think I knew before I said them and my voice could have broken glass. After I said to put the owner on the phone, he got on (why didn't he call me in the first place?) after a long, angry discussion where I told him that he should have told me months ago that there was a problem and I feel that they did not tell me so I would be stuck using their company and stuck with whatever car they gave me he told me that he would try to get me another car that would make my happy. Then I said, and what are you doing on my prices. He said, 'I will take $100 off but I don't even have to do that for you'

After not trusting these people and not wanting to give them my $2K cash or my business I decided to cancel (I was NOT stuck using them) and book another company. I did get my $300 deposit back from M&V, and for that, I think they did the right thing. I was NOT happy using them and did not trust them at all. They had more than enough time to tell me about the problem with the car and let me make my own decision about what to do. But they decided to wait until 10-days before my wedding to inform me.

Normally I try not to scare other brides about vendors but this is way too much. If you booked with M&V make sure you SEE your cars and do not take their word that it will 'be ready'.

Royalty Limo has been wonderful to deal with. Manny has been great to deal with and has helped me sooo much. I will post a few review after the wedding.

Re: WARNING...WARNING M&V Limo (long)

Michele I am sorry. Thats a big disappointment for you, especially so close to your wedding.
I myself am going to use Royalty Limos, even though I saw maybe one or negative posts, I also spoke to Manny and he was really nice and they seem to have a great fleet of cars although I still have to go check them out in person. As I posted previously I worked in the corporate/wedding transportation business for 10 years, and I plan to really put them through the test from the second I meet with them !
I know all the majorly important things to ask and I am sure you do too.
Good Luck and I'll be awaiting your review from them! I know you are as picky as I am, if not more (that's good! )
Thanks for the M&V post. I love when brides post so honestly about vendors.

Re: WARNING...WARNING M&V Limo (long)

Michele so sorry to hear about this so close to your day!! I am a little ticked especially since I heard nothing but amazing reviews with them. Bad business on their part, very bad.
At least you got all your money back. They did not deserve one penny of your money and time! Shame on them!
They are a definite NOT for me to visit when I start searching on limos after your experience.
Good Luck Michele.

just bumped so my other friends can read this. I don't want anyone to have booked their Madam X car and be disappointed like I am.

Re: Warning about using M&V Limo (long)

I'm glad that you got your money back!!

holding off telling you until 10 days before the wedding is UNACCEPTABLE!! It seems that they wanted to tell you last minute...so you had no chance to change...

I'm glad that Royalty has been good to you...I spoke with the owner and he offered me a great deal, but then when I called back a worker told me another price...(so jenns negative post was probably mine...b/c I was upset at that moment - but it was really not a big deal)

Re: Warning about using M&V Limo (long)

So sorry to hear that about M&V. I had a good experience with them- especially our limo driver - she was the best! It surprises me that they treated you in that manner in consideration of the great service provided to us by M&V for our September wedding.

Re: M&V Limo (long)

I am so sorry you had to go through this. The last thing you need is added stress so close to your day. I will cross them off my list. Thanks for your honest post.

Re: M&V Limo (long)

Michele - I am so sorry for this added stress right before your wedding day. I can't thank you enough for posting this, though. If you remember, I was torn between M&V and All-Star. I was going to wait for your review, but I was getting ansy. Bob and I were supposed to go Saturday to check-out M&V and I guess somebody was looking down on us - because we were too lazy to get out of bed.

I would talk to Denise at the Hamlet WW to see if they can be removed as the 'recommended' vendor. Their behavior is highly unacceptable.

I'm so grateful to you for your honest post!!

Re: M&V Limo (long)

Oh, Michele, I'm so sorry that you had to deal with this! With only a few days left, I'm sure you're busy enough-who needs this sort of aggravation??

I checked out M&V b/c we wanted that Madam X too!!! In the end, I couldn't fit the price of this additonal car into our budget. A friend highly recommended Royalty, we met Manny and booked on the spot. They have a huge fleet-did you see the new Caddy STS?

Glad that you were able to get your deposit back and move forward. Thank you for the honest and thorough post. What M&V did is inexcusable in my book...

Hang in there, girl. Only a few days 'til your a
