MAC makeup

for those of you who use MAC makeup -- is it cheaper to buy it at a MAC store, or at a dept. store like Macy's?

And, secondly, if you had a trial done at a MAC makeup counter and LOVED it, can you tell me who you used and which mall it was at?

When I purchase my MAC products I normally go to Henri Bendel's on Fifth Avenue. I do not know if it is cheaper at this department store or going to the MAC store in the village. However, I know of someone that works at MAC counter at the Macy's in Valley Stream, Green Acres mall. He is extremely talented and he used to work at BET doing makeup for years. I buy all my makeup at MAC in the Walt Whitman Mall. It's attached to Macy's but sort of its own separate store. But its the same price there and when I pick something up at the Macy's in Smith Haven.

I haven't had my makeup done there in a while, so I can't tell you who, but when I did last time I loved it.

I think that Mac is priced the same anywhere you buy it- I had a make-over at the MAC counter at Smithhaven with a girl with red hair( dont know her name) but she did a great job

I go to the Henri Bendel's too, as well as Bloomingdales on Lex. and I dunno about the make up artist but they all seem good. And about the pricing I think its pretty much the same.

Unless you know someone who works at Estee Lauder (who manufactures MAC)and can buy the stuff for half price at the company store, it is the same price everywhere. I was very fortunate.

I also used Melinda and thought she was fantastic! She is a wonderful person who was a grat personto have at my house the day of!

Ill be honest with you. I had my make up done at a MAC counter at MACY's in Manhasset just for color purposes. My friend/stylist used the same make-up the counter did (some of which I purchased - some of which I got from a family member) and she did a better job with it than the trained MAC artists. Suffice it to say, that every make up person (MAC or not) does things different. Even with the exact same colors and materials, one can make you look like a clown and the other like a swan.

#1 - At the MAC counter
#2 - Day of my wedding done by my friend with the same exact MAC make up.

they are the same price everywhere........if you get a makeover you have to buy 5 products......

It was actually $50 dollars worth and not 5 products where I went.
