MAC Makeup Trial Question

So I am thinking of goin to the counter at the mall and having a trial lol.

Is this possible? can you just go have them do your makeup? Also, how much does it cost? Is it the type thing wher eyou have to by a certain amount of product? I really want false eyelashes and i don't think the woman that did my trial does those...do MAC ladies do them? Please help lol

Hi~ Usually, they'll do it on the spot and for free if they're not busy...but I'd call to make an appointment, even if its just for the counter person. And, you can ask if there's any purchase requirements but I think its more of an unspoken 'we now hope you buy something' kind of deal...i don't think its mandatory. If you feel forced to buy something, just say you will definitely think about it! haha

They definitely do false eyelashes.
I went to the MAC store @ walt whitman mall & one of the ladies told me that i can do a trial there for FREE but.......... as a courtesy i should buy 1 or 2 products from them. You must make an appointment in order to do this.

I also went to MAC @ Macy*s and they told me that i MUST purchase 5 products from them in order to get a trial or whatever i wanted.

You could always ask the girls if they do freelance work on the side......... most of them do.

My friend asked the people in MAC if they require you to purchase something or do they do it for free. they said it is a free trial in Smithhaven Mall so I don't know if that's just them or at other malls too...HTH

I got my Makeup done by MAC for my E-Pics and all I had to purchase was the falsh eyelashes that she used on me. But I love the colors she used so I wound up buying most of the makeup she used on me.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hey There!
You're in luck because...

I work for MAC..I'm the Trainer for Manhattan, so I do all the education and special events in NYC.

You should absolutely do your trial with MAC..Appointments are recommended jusy because Bride Trials usually take an hour, and they will need to schedule accordingly.
The off peak times are the best times to go (aka early morning/afternoon, not on a Saturday)

False lashes are a MUST b/c the adhesive we use is waterproof so above all else your lashes will be fabulous.

Also-if you're not loving your makeup on trial #1-go try someone else! We don't take it personally, and everyone has a different approach and vision.
It would be more cost effective too to do your trial in the store.
Also-I always say to bring pictures for inspiration or think of celebrity references. That helps us out a lot...Makeup artists aren't mind readers
Sometimes its hard to get started b/c the bride can't explain what she wants, so its always helpful to have a jumping off point.
Bring a camera too! You need to see how it photogrpahs..And lastly, try to wear a white shirt for your trial. Its hard to get a full idea of the makeup when you're wearing fuscia.

Good luck!

Re: MAC Makeup Trial Question

Depends on which MAC store you go to. If you go to a MAC station inside another store, like macys you need to make an appt. If you go to an actual Mac store they will do it on the spot if they arent busy. If not they will tell you to come back. All makeup apps are $50 (which they tell you have to buy 50 worht of products) but you can always return them later
