MAC Makeup Trial Question

Original post by MrsDrinkh20

So I am thinking of goin to the counter at the mall and having a trial lol.

Is this possible? can you just go have them do your makeup? Also, how much does it cost? Is it the type thing wher eyou have to by a certain amount of product? I really want false eyelashes and i don't think the woman that did my trial does those...do MAC ladies do them? Please help lol

Really if you think about it though it’s not that bad… most trials you have to pay $50 and all you get is a trial, at least you can walk away with a trial AND $50 of makeup from MAC!

It is usually $50 in products and they will do the lashes for you but they generally will not do the individual eyelashes in the dept. stores - only the one piece (liability reasons ).

Oh yeah, and ps-
Most likely they will not quote freelance prices on the phone..
Keep in mind when a MAC person comes to your house on your wedding day, you didn't book 'MAC cosmetics', you booked 'Sally Sue makeup artist'.
MAC isn't responsible for what their artists do on their own time (aka bridal freelance).
SO the artists are not supposed to quote on the phone b/c technically it has nothing to do with MAC, except the fact that you met them there..

And if they do quote directly on the phone, technically they can get in a lot of trouble. You're better off booking a trial, seeing if you like their makeup style, then discussing price.

PS the better/more experienced the makeup artist, the more expensive it will be. But I truly believe you get what you pay for.

Makeup is usually the 1st thing to be taken off the budget, when really I think thats silly b/c your pictures are all you have left at the end of it all. So makeup is AS IMPORTANT as hair.

Re: MAC Makeup Trial Question

I went to MAC @ Walt Whitman a few years ago and did a trial for a wedding that I was a BM in. Melinda (she's is a vendor on here) did a great job and I didn't need an appt. - only needed to buy a few items. Not sure if she still works there, but I want her to do my makeup. Check out her website.
