Re: MAC vs. PC
I use macs at school, work at sometimes at home if i borrow my dad's mac laptop. I plan on buying a new mac tower that can run windows on it. Macs have a nicer usability in my mind, have less virus and conflicts then PC's, run faster, multitaks better, GREAT for graphics.
Problems it does run office programs a bit slower but this could of changed with the new interface.

i think they are easy to use... we just got new macs in our classroom, which were switched from PCS... the kids were able to adjust to the differences right away with out a problem!

If it helps you decide... I'm on a Mac right now (love it, by the way!) and those stupid scrolling avatar pictures... don't scroll on a mac. They stand still, and just the text above scrolls. It wasn't until i went to work today and used a Dell Desktop that i saw what all the fuss was about. So get a Mac and save yourself some headaches!

Re: MAC vs. PC
We used to have a MAC and I feel like I never had problems (this was back in high school) and then once I went away to school I became a Dell person. But I honestly think MAC's are of better quality, even thought I'm a PC person.

DH and I have 2 Mac computers! Mine is a laptop. I would never go back to PC... the mac is so easy to use and works great! I have had my laptop for 4 years and it still runs just as fast and has the same batter life (never updated anything). HIGHLY recommend a mac!
DITTO!!! I can't live w/ out my MAC.....I use a PC at work and HATE it!!!

I really don't like my Mac. It is difficult me to log on at home into my work computer bc of issues with citrix.
I prefer a PC

You should go to a MAC store and play around with one of the computers and ask a sales person for a quick (free) tutorial. If they want a sale they'll show you the basics. I'm a MAC person all the way, would never go back to a PC. There are so many cool features once you get used to how things work.

i LOVEEE my MAC! i use a MAC laptop and work and at home and bought FH one for our engagement....they are sooo easy to use once u learn it... i was trained by apple for my job so its easy to understand, but if u are teaching yourself it may be a little confusing, but i know they offer some sort of training at the apple store and its def worth it.....
and someone asked about making movies... i made an awesome DVD for my students last year in iMovie ...very easy to use and it plays excellent on your tv....good luck!

Re: MAC vs. PC
If you are doing heavy graphic editing... film editing and so on go with a macg5.. the imacs are great fun for surfing the web, itunes and basic stuff. The only real differnce is the great operating system that macs have and the durablity of macs.. I thin kh the Mac Os operating system makes so much more sense than the Pcs one.. I would love to get the maac I want .. but it would cost me $3500... I am still setting though for a pc..
I think Macs are more user friendly so overall if you are just using it for basic stuff go for it..

I am a pretty profficent windows user. but I think I want a MAC and DH wants to get me one for xmas. I am scared though I wont figure it out. any one have a mac out there that loves it and totally thinks I should get it, or says stay away. I dont know
Hey!! FYI - Macs are really good for graphics and if you're graphic savvy. Otherwise, I'd stick with a PC.
That's what I was going to say + add also good for any sort of video editing.
I studied film in college and in our lower level classes and some of the advanced, we used Mac-based programs for all of our editing. It's superior as far as that goes.
It takes a little while to get used to the commands... but you'll be able to figure it out. It's not *that* different.
(FWIW, I now have a PC... A brand new Dell I bought in August that is now not working... at least Dell is coming to fix it tomorrow!)

Re: MAC vs. PC
I use both...Mac at work, PC at home...Macs are pretty easy! I don't feel much of a difference between the two, honestly, with the new Macs.
