Every time I mention that I am considering registering at Macy's people make faces. Is there something wrong with the registry? I am definitely registering @ BBB, but should I be registering @ Fortunoff's instead?

Maybe some people have had bad experiences with it?
I am registered there..and have not had a problem...we are registered at fortunoffs as well.
I registered at macys because a lot of my family shops there,so I wanted to make it easier.
But I personally think its a great place to register..I'm sure others have their stories though.

I've heard some negative stuff about Macys, but I registerd there anyway and I have had NO problems with them what-so-ever!!
On top of that their rewards program is awsome!
We started one with Fortunoff, but we stopped it b/c we were having a lot of problems with them and, IMO, they are overpriced.
I love our Macys registry! You should def register there!
ETA: We also liked Macy's b/c our family and friends constantly get coupons to there so it's more convenient.

We registered at BB&B and Macy's. In all honesty, the Macy's was a complete waste of time. Their regular prices are very high (their sale prices are decent), and I know for my registry most of the items online are listed as 'will ship in 8-10 or 10-12 weeks.' What guest wants to buy you a gift that gets shipped 2-3 months later? Also, the customer service at the Herald Square store is beyond awful.

The thing I hate about Macys is that their regular prices are so high. I registered for luggage when it was $160 a piece and now its 300 a piece. I'm going to delete it ASAP before someone buys it for me!. The same happened with the towels I registered for. They are up to $35! I felt guilty for registering for such expensive towels when they were $14. I can't believe how much they charge for things that are not on sale.

FYI - If you're registering for Lenox, it's actually cheaper at Fortunoff than at Macy*s - WHO KNEW??!
Oh and people who make faces obviously haven't been to 34th street, that place is like a museum...

I am planning on registering for Lenox, so maybe it would be beneficial if I registered at Fortunoff's instead of Macys.

I think overall Macys is a bad rap between prices, service, and overall stuff...we did crate and barrel and BBB but we also did Fortunoff and ended up taking most of it off because literally when we got downstairs, things were already being discontinued and the service wasn't as good as BBB, where people can use coupons and such. They also ship VERY promptly...good luck and have fun!

I dont know why they make faces. Maybe cause they are known for being expensive..thats the only thing I can think of. But you registry where every you want. If people dont want to buy you something from MAcys they can always give cash

Honestly, I registered there and so did my friend who got married last year, both of us have had no problems with them. In fact my friend loved registering there because after all her registry items were bought she got 5% back and 10% back on items she bought before the wedding on her Macy's card and they received a $300 GC. Also Macy's always has sales, so your guests will get some stuff on sale and the next week they always have new sales on the items that weren't on sale the week before. So register where ever you want!

I am registered at all three of these. I just added Macy's and so far I am starting to find that some of the items are a little more expensive at Macy's than BBB or Fotunoff but I think they run better sales than both of the stores. My Mom bought a set of my china for me and she said she got it for a great price at Macy's. Their rewards program is great though, I'm happy about that. Since I have added Macy's I've been pulling a lot of stuff of the Fortunoff's registry because they have terrible customer service and terrible return policies. They really annoyed me over something I bought there for Christmas and then tried to return so I don't have many items on their anymore. Bottom line is if you like what they have at Macy's then add them. It's whatever you want!

I registered at both Macys & Fortunoff's. They each have mostly the same things...just some things are more expensive at Fortunoff's and vice versa. Also...Macy's is a great alternative because I'm sure more people shop there anyway.

I registered for luggage when it was on sale and regulr price was 300! I didnt even realize until after my shower and the f-in luggage is way too small for me (I registered sight unseen online) I had a great experience at Macy's over all but this was the one issue i had....oh and laso I regitered for my crystal stemware when it was on sale and regular was way expensive...i didnt get any of it from my birdal shower...]
