How do these dresses run? Very small like most? IF you wouldnt mind giving examples of what size you actually are in say jeans or a dress and what size you had to take in you Maggie Sottero dress. Also- ballgown style is what I will be getting, I mean fitted bodice, out at the bottom.

I was a size 14 and my gown was a size 16. It had to be altered a tad smaller but nothing major. IMO Maggies run a bit more true to size than a lot of other designer's that I had tried on.

I'm a Maggie bride and the place where I got my dress ordered the dress the size I was...she didn't order me a larger dress beacuse I have a corset back and she said it will not lay right or when the seamstress is altering it it will not be the same, so i ordered my dress the size she measured me at and I have been watching my weight-eating right and exercising. Plus if its a little tight, its a corset back and i will have leverage.

I am a Maggie girl as well and when she measured me she ended up ordering the same size I usually am. It is a corset back, so more forgiving in terms of going a little bigger/smaller but I have to agree and felt that they were more true to size than other dresses.

I got measured for 2 maggie dresses that I tried at 2 different stores. Both said I'd need an 8. (one of the samples was in an 8) I'm usually like a 7 or 5 in jeans depending. They are both coreset backs (lace up) so that helps.

I agree with the rest of the ladies. I'm a size 8 and the dress is a size 10. The 8 fit but we decided to make the corset back opening a little smaller we would go with the 10.

I have a Maggie - I am ususally a 25 waist in jeans and a size 0-3 in everything else and they ordered me a 6 - I was upset by that but they told me the measurements are slightly different I have a corset top ( In ALbum)

i am also a maggie bride & i had the same experience as others. they ordered me an 8 which is exactly what i measured. also a corset back. some of my pants r a 6 others r an 8. i was also ordered an 8 in a bill levkoff dress over the summer & that only need a few alterations.

Street size 18, Maggie dress in 22 only because my back is wide and my boobs are big. I tried samples on in a 16 and they fit over my hips and butt fine. Always fit the largest measurement, whether it be chest, waist or hips.

I wear a size 3 or 5 in jeans, and my dress is a 6. It has a corset lace back and it fits great. No alterations

I am a size 4 in jeans. All of my measurements were for a size 2....except for the waist...I was 1/2 inch off...and I'd rather not have to eat celery for the next 6 months to try and squeeze into the dress, so we ordered the 4.

ohh no, they ordered me and 8 and im not an 8. thats bigger than my reg size. i hope it's okay! ahhhh.

I'm probably a street size 2-4 and my bridal salon ordered a size 4 and it was too small. A size 6 would have been perfect. HTH

I am an 8 in street clothes, and my dress was an 8. It did not need one alteration. It was a lace up back.
Wow, that makes me happy to hear that many of you girls did not need alterations. I love the maggies sottero dresses. I'm going dress shopping Feb 21

Wow theres a lot of variability on here! I am a pant size 4, shirt size small and my Maggie dress was ordered in an 8. I looked at the measurement guide in the book and that looked right. Hopefully it will go smoothly...

the sizing is pretty dead on. I am a 6-8, and I ordered an 8. i needed very very minimal alterations.

I'm usually a 2 in dresses and I got a size 4 and petite length. My dress is a lace up back and I wanted a little space in the back to show the laces. This gives you a little room but it depends if you want the edges very close together or not. Mine has about a medium space I guess for the laces. It fits PERFECT. I don't think I need anything done other than cups sewn in.
