Maid of Honor and Matron of Honor

Have any of you had a Maid of Honor AND a Matron of Honor??

I'm having a hard time picking girls for my bridal party. My bff and I had a falling out and didn't talk for about 7 months or so. We are finally talking again but we are not as close as we used to be (less chats on the phone, dont' see each other much but actually we live far away from each other now).

In that time, another friend and I became very close and she has been a tremendously good friend to me.

Since one is married and one is not, both would have that special title of being 'something-of-honor'.

Part of me thinks it's cute and part of me thinks it could be insulting.

What do you think?

As of now I only have a maid of honor which is my cousin but now I really think I want to ask my sister in law to be my matron of honor. So I think I will have both!!!

i don't think it's insulting at all! i've been to a ton of weddings with both maid & matron. do whats in ur heart girl! it's YOUR day!

I think many people have maid and matrons of honor these days. Also, it's your day . . . . whatever make things easier and happier for you!

I was in a wedding where I was the maid of honor and my BF's friend from home was her matron...I did not at all find it insulting since we were both equally close with my friend...As long as you stress to both girls how important they are to you and that they be a part of your special day there's no reason for things to seem weird!

It made the planning on my end of the shower and bach party much easier too! lol

I was so excited to ask them today but for some reason it didn't feel right and now I'm thinking that I only want one - just my friend for a Maid of Honor.

Why is this so darn hard!?!?!?!?

I'm having both. both are my best friends I couldn't choose one over the other with out hurting one of thier feelings. besides now I have two slaves to help me with all the wedding stuff!!!!!!
