I would like to know how many of you are having your maid of honor do a toast as well as the best man and if so is it at a seperate time as the best mans toast? I would really like my sister in law to make a toast at my wedding.

Re: Maid of honor toast at wedding
I would really love it if my MOH made a toast but I won't force her. If she decides to do one, I believe it comes right after the Best Mans but before yours or your parents.

My MOH (my sister) is doing a toast right after the Best Man does his toast. I can't wait to hear what she says :)

I believe my MOH (future SIL) is doing a toast right after the best man (my brother).

Re: Maid of honor toast at wedding
At my cousins wedding her MOH (her sister) did a toast before the Best Man did his. I don't think my MOH will do one...she hates having to speak in front of large groups of people.

Re: Maid of honor toast at wedding
My MOH made a speech right after the Best Man and it was wonderful. It meant so much to me, especially since the Best Man and I hadn't known each other very long -- so hers was so personal and so touching. I'll never forget it.
But it's definitely not necessary. We didn't have a lot of toasts. In fact my dad didn't even do a toast!

Re: Maid of honor toast at wedding
my MOH will make a toast at my wedding. I was recently a BM in my friends wedding, and she asked us to toast her and her husband. It was nice since best man's toast was VERY short and sweet, ours was longer and more personal (we could be more sappy since we are girls) :)

My MOH did a toast at my wedding and it was so beautiful! She spoke before the Best Man and I have to say that both of their toasts were so touching! I asked her if she wouldn't mind and she jumped at the chance!

My MOH is making a toast instead of the best man. My FH's brother is really shy and he does not want to speak. My sister said she would do it instead. We'll see how it goes.

Oh I forgot to mention that I'm terrified of my future brother - in - law (best man) making the toast in addition to my MOHs...let's put it this way - this was the guy who said 'make sure you put Marni at the end of family photos so we can just cut her out if they ever break up - why ruin a good picture' - 'nuff said?

Re: Maid of honor toast at wedding
We are having both the MOH and BM make a toast, I've been best friends with my MOH for 15 years and I couldn't imagine not having her give a toast, in fact as long as I can remember even before I knew who I was going to marry I always knew she would be my MOH and that she would give a toast.
my MOH (sister) did not make a speech...thank goodness...b/c then I would have to make one at hers!!

Re: Maid of honor toast at wedding
my brother is my best man and his sister is his woman of honor.....a little weird, I know. They are both making speeches, although she is weird and cold to me and I am VERY nervous about hers, I am going to make sure that someone reads it over first. My cousins best man speech was so bad, she had to cut the whole thing out of her wedding video. the dummy was up there talking all about the groom and all the girls he dated in college, it was weird!

Re: Maid of honor toast at wedding
Thanks for all of your responses. I asked her and she said she would love to. I think my FH thought somehow this was taking the spotlight off of his brother (best man) not that I understand how. Although me and his brother get along, it hasnt been a bed of roses with the rest of his family and I would like to have someone important to me to say something.
